Arrow Fusion Guide
Fusing materials to arrows transforms them into elemental projectiles, homing shots, or utility tools. Arrow fusions are single-use but cost no weapon durability.
Keese Eyeball
Homing Arrow
The arrow automatically tracks the nearest enemy. Essential for airborne targets like Gleeoks and flying Constructs. Stock up by farming Keese at night.
Best for: Aerial enemies, fast-moving targets
Farm: Any cave or nighttime overworld spawn
Fire Fruit
Fire Arrow
Ignites enemies and sets the environment ablaze. Effective against ice enemies like Ice Wizzrobes and Blue-White Lizalfos. Can also ignite grass for updrafts.
Best for: Ice enemies, grass updraft generation
Farm: Harvest from Fire Fruit plants near Eldin or Death Mountain
Ice Fruit
Ice Arrow
Freezes enemies solid on hit, allowing follow-up melee attacks for bonus damage. Also quenches fire hazards. Best for crowd freezing.
Best for: Freeze combos, fire enemy regions
Farm: Cold mountain regions, Hebra and Lanayru snow areas
Electric Fruit
Shock Arrow
Paralyzes enemies briefly and deals bonus damage to water enemies. Chains to nearby targets if they are close together. Great in Zora-adjacent areas.
Best for: Grouped enemies, water regions, Waterblight Ganon variants

Shield Fusion Guide
Fusing materials to shields adds parry effects, durability boosts, and mobility tools. Shield fusions trigger on perfect parries or on shield raise depending on the material.
Zonai Fan
Rocket Shield
Attaching a Zonai Fan to a shield creates a hover shield. When you raise it and jump, the fan launches you skyward for significant altitude gain. Essential for crossing large gaps mid-combat.
Parry effect: None — utility focused. Use for mobility.
Zonai Rocket
Rocket Launch Shield
Fusing a Zonai Rocket to a shield gives a single-use massive vertical launch. Ideal for reaching Sky Islands without a nearby Skyview Tower. Activates on shield raise.
Parry effect: None — single-use burst ascent.
Ruby
Fire Parry Shield
A shield fused with a Ruby releases a fire explosion when you perform a perfect parry. Damages multiple nearby enemies with AOE fire. Doubles as protection against cold environments.
Parry effect: Fire AOE explosion on successful parry
Sapphire
Ice Parry Shield
Fusing a Sapphire freezes enemies caught in the parry blast. Enemies are locked in ice for several seconds, allowing free hits. Best for isolated mini-boss fights.
Parry effect: Ice AOE freeze on successful parry
Topaz
Electric Parry Shield
A Topaz shield sends a lightning strike on a perfect parry, paralyzing groups of nearby enemies. Outstanding in tight combat situations with multiple attackers.
Parry effect: Lightning strike + group paralysis on parry
Lynel Hoof
Reinforced Shield
Lynel Hooves dramatically boost shield durability without a special parry effect. Best when you want a shield that lasts through a long dungeon or boss gauntlet without breaking.
Parry effect: None — high durability bonus only
Diamond
Diamond Shield
Highest durability shield fusion. A Diamond-fused Hylian Shield becomes nearly indestructible for long sessions. Reserve Diamonds for shields you plan to use for the long haul.
Parry effect: None — maximum durability.
Large Zonai Charge
Energy Shield
Adds a Zonai energy burst on parry, briefly powering nearby Zonai devices. Niche but useful in Zonai Device-heavy dungeons and Sky Island exploration sequences.
Parry effect: Zonai energy pulse on parry
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Fuse work in Tears of the Kingdom?
Fuse is one of Link's new abilities in TotK. It lets you attach materials, items, and monster parts to weapons, shields, and arrows. Fusing increases damage, adds elemental effects, and can even change how a weapon behaves. Access Fuse from the ability wheel (L button) and hold the fuse material near your weapon to combine them.
What are the best fuse combinations in TotK?
The highest damage fuse combos use Silver Lynel Saber Horns (+55 damage) attached to high-base-damage weapons like the Savage Lynel Sword (58 base) for 113 total damage, or the Royal Claymore (52 base) for 107 total. For elemental builds, fusing Rubies, Sapphires, or Topaz onto weapons creates AOE explosions on hit.
Can you un-fuse weapons in Tears of the Kingdom?
Yes! Visit any Goron in Tarrey Town or find a Rock Octorok in Eldin. Throw your fused weapon near a Rock Octorok and it will suck it up, then spit out the base weapon un-fused and fully repaired. This is the best way to recycle high-value base weapons with new materials.
What is the strongest fused weapon in TotK?
The strongest single-hit fused weapon is the Savage Lynel Sword fused with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn at 113 attack power. For two-handed weapons, the Royal Claymore with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn reaches 107 attack. With attack-up buffs and set bonuses, these can deal even more effective damage.
Does fuse material affect weapon durability?
Yes, fusing a material to a weapon adds its own durability on top of the base weapon's durability. Harder materials like gems (Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire) and horns from strong enemies add significantly more durability. This means fused weapons last longer than their un-fused counterparts.
