Addison — Sign Holder for Hudson Construction

Addison is a worker for Hudson Construction who appears at 76 locations across Hyrule, always struggling to hold up a promotional sign for the company. Each time you find Addison and prop up the sign using Ultrahand, he rewards Link with food, materials, and rupees. Finding all 76 Addisons is one of the most rewarding collectible quests in the game.

How to Help Addison

Each Addison encounter follows the same format:

  1. Find Addison — he's always straining to hold a Hudson Construction sign upright
  2. Use Ultrahand — grab a nearby prop (rock, log, plank, barrel) and wedge it under the sign to hold it up
  3. Collect reward — Addison thanks Link and gives a package of goods

The sign must stay upright after you let go. If it falls, Addison's dialogue restarts. Any stable prop works — don't overthink the solution.

What Addison Rewards You With

Each Addison encounter gives the same reward package:

| Item | Quantity | |------|----------| | Paddock Goulash (or similar cooked meal) | 1 | | Hylian Shroom or other ingredient | 1–3 | | Rupees | 20–50 | | Random bonus (arrows, bomb flowers, etc.) | Occasional |

The meals are cooked food — useful for heart restoration in the field. The rupee value per encounter is modest but across all 76 encounters adds up to 1,500–3,000 Rupees total.

Why Find All 76 Addisons

Beyond the rewards, finding all 76 Addisons:

  • Completes the "A Sign of Trouble" side adventure quest chain
  • Contributes to 100% completion
  • Each regional cluster feeds into the larger Hudson Construction questline
  • Provides a reason to explore every corner of the map

Sky Islands (4 Addisons)

Depths (2 Addisons)

Two Addison encounters exist in the Depths, near major Lightroot paths. These are the most obscure encounters and easy to miss.

Tips for Finding All Addisons

Travel all roads: Addison appears along Hyrule's road network. Riding a horse or using fast travel between stables and then exploring the connecting roads is the most efficient sweep method.

Look for the sign: Addison's sign is a bright orange/yellow Hudson Construction billboard — visible from a moderate distance. If you're near the coordinates for a region and see a sign, Addison is there.

Use the map: The Purah Pad's surface map shows roads. Systematically clear each road segment in a region before moving on.

Check stables: Addison frequently appears near stables and the roads connecting them. Do the stable-to-stable road sweep and you'll find the majority of encounters.

Sky and Depths last: Save the sky island and Depths Addison encounters for last — they're the hardest to reach and easiest to miss if you're trying to do them in a logical order.

Completing the Quest Chain

After helping enough Addisons, Mattison's Independence and A Sign of Trouble side adventures update. The full 76-Addison completion feeds into the Hudson Construction storyline, which connects to the Tarrey Town questline.

Completing the Tarrey Town questline (Hudson's Story) unlocks:

  • Rubber Armor set purchase at Tarrey Town
  • Additional shops and NPCs
  • Tarrey Town becomes a full settlement

Prop-Up Tips

Some Addison signs are harder to prop up than others. General solutions:

  • Rectangular wooden boxes nearby — slide underneath the sign base
  • Round barrels — wedge at the back corner
  • Logs or planks — lean diagonally as a brace
  • Rocks — pack against the sign post base

If the sign won't stay, try attaching the prop to the sign using Ultrahand's glue function (press A while objects are touching).
