Akkala Sky Archipelago Guide — All Sky Islands in Northeast Hyrule
Akkala Sky Archipelago Guide
The Akkala Sky Archipelago floats high above northeastern Hyrule, northeast of Eldin and east of Death Mountain's volcanic plumes. This cluster of sky islands is one of the most rewarding yet undervisited regions in the game — it holds multiple shrines, dense Zonai device caches, and the best route for farming Crystallized Charges and Large Zonai Charges in a single loop.
How to Reach the Akkala Sky Archipelago
Method 1 — Akkala Ancient Tech Lab Skyview Tower Launch
The fastest access point is the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower (coordinates: 3493, 1689, 0233). Activate the tower and use its launch to reach the lower tier of the archipelago. From the launch apex, glide northeast and slightly east — you should land on the first major platform within full stamina (one wheel) if you have the Paraglider.
If your stamina is low, bring at least one Energizing Elixir or cook Stamella Shroom-based meals before attempting the crossing.
Method 2 — Climbing Akkala Highlands Peaks
Several tall peaks in the Akkala Highlands (around 3200, 2000, 0350 elevation range) sit close enough to the lowest sky islands that you can Ascend through rock overhangs or simply glide the remaining gap. The peak near North Akkala Valley is the best free-climb launch point.
Method 3 — Sky Island Chain Hopping from Eldin
If you have already explored the Eldin Sky Islands, you can sky-hop eastward. Build a fan-powered hovercraft or ride Zonai wing gliders across the chain. This takes longer but is a reliable route if you have Zonai Wings and fans in your inventory.
Island-by-Island Overview
Sky Platform Alpha — The Entry Plateau
The first island you land on after Ulri Tower launch. It's a wide, flat stone plateau with:
- 2 wooden crates containing arrows (5–10 per crate)
- 1 Treasure Chest — Opal gemstone
- 1 Crystallized Charge on a stone pedestal
- A Construct camp with 2 Soldier Constructs (level 1)
The constructs drop Zonai Charges on defeat. They respawn with every Blood Moon.
Sky Platform Beta — The Mid Tier Islands
A cluster of 3 connected islands accessible from Alpha via a Zonai Wing launch ramp. Notable loot:
- Treasure Chest 1 — Knight's Shield
- Treasure Chest 2 — Ruby (inside locked stone chest — requires Bomb Flower or hammered Zonai Ball)
- Construct Soldier x3 — drops Zonai Charges, occasionally Large Zonai Charges
- Zonai Wing launch ramp — use it to reach the upper tier
- Hydrant Zonai Device (permanent, attached to stone pillar) — useful for filling Hyrule Rice bowls or dousing fire hazards
Sky Platform Gamma — Shrine Island
The largest island in the upper tier, distinguished by a glowing shrine portal. This is home to:
Mayahisik Shrine — A Windy Device challenge. You must use a Zonai Fan and a flat platform to ride wind currents across a series of gaps. Reward: Light of Blessing. The shrine also has a hidden chest containing Strong Zonaite Shield.
Additional loot on the shrine island:
- 4 Zonai Capsule Dispensers — insert Zonai Charges to receive random Zonai device capsules (fans, rockets, springs, wheels)
- 1 Large Zonai Charge on altar pedestal
- Bubbulfrog hiding under a rock overhang on the island's east cliff
Sky Platform Delta — The High Nest
The uppermost island, requiring either a rocket-boosted vehicle from Gamma or a Skyview launch from an adjacent peak. Small but extremely rewarding:
- Treasure Chest — Zonaite Spear (strong base weapon)
- Treasure Chest — 5x Large Zonai Charges
- Rare Ore Deposit — mine with any weapon for Flint, Amber, and occasionally Opal or Topaz
- Aerocuda nest — 3–5 Aerocuda spawn here, dropping Aerocuda Wings useful for arrow fusing

Best Farming Routes
Route 1 — Crystallized Charge Loop (15–20 min)
- Launch from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower
- Land on Alpha — collect Crystallized Charge, defeat 2 Constructs
- Glide to Beta — defeat 3 Constructs, collect drops
- Ride Wing ramp to Gamma — use all 4 dispensers, collect Large Zonai Charge
- Rocket-boost to Delta — collect all chests, mine ore deposit
- Paraglide back down to ground
- Fast travel to Ulri Tower, repeat after Blood Moon
Average yield per run: 8–12 Zonai Charges, 2–4 Large Zonai Charges, 1 Crystallized Charge, 1–2 gemstones
Route 2 — Aerocuda Wing Farm (10 min)
Aerocuda are found in large numbers on Delta and around the outer edges of Gamma. They fly predictably in circles. Use:
- Keese Eyeball + arrow for homing shots that guarantee hits mid-flight
- Bomb Flower + arrow to knock down multiple at once
- Each Aerocuda drops 1–2 Aerocuda Wings, which fuse to arrows for significantly extended range and slight homing
Wings sell for 4 rupees each or are more valuable fused. Farm Delta and Gamma together for 10–15 wings per visit.
Route 3 — Blood Moon Construct Reset
Constructs across all platforms reset on every Blood Moon. Plan full archipelago clears the night a Blood Moon is due. Signs: blood-red sky after 9pm in-game, red Moon rising on the horizon. Complete one dungeon or a long shrine sequence to reliably trigger a Blood Moon if you need a reset.
Tips and Notes
- Bring at least 2 full stamina wheels or stamina-boosting food before attempting the full archipelago circuit — the glide from Delta back to Gamma or down to ground level is substantial.
- The Dispenser on Gamma island can occasionally drop Balloon capsules — these are rare and useful for sky traversal builds.
- The Bubbulfrog on Gamma counts toward the 147 total Bubblfrogs needed for full Bubbul Gem rewards from Koltin.
- Mining the Delta ore deposit with a Rock Hammer (fused) is significantly faster than a standard weapon and saves durability.
- If you miss the Ulri Tower launch trajectory, aim for the lower Akkala Highlands ridge first — it's a safe intermediate landing point before attempting the sky islands again.
