Central Hyrule Depths Guide

The Central Hyrule Depths is the heart of the underground world in Tears of the Kingdom — the largest, most content-dense Depths zone, lying beneath Hyrule Field, Hyrule Castle, and the surrounding Central Hyrule region. It contains the largest concentration of lightroots, the most Bargainer Statues, the highest-level enemy variants, and a Flux Construct III encounter. This is the endgame Depths region and rewards careful exploration with the best materials in the underground.

Why Central Depths Is the Priority Zone

| Feature | Central Depths | Other Regions | |---------|---------------|--------------| | Lightroot count | 14+ | 5–8 | | Bargainer Statue count | 4 | 0–1 | | Flux Construct tier | III (highest) | I–II | | Resource density | Highest | Moderate | | Enemy difficulty | High (Silver variants) | Low–Medium |

Entry Points

The Central Depths has more entry chasms than any other region:

| Chasm | Surface Location | |-------|-----------------| | Hyrule Castle Chasm | Hyrule Castle grounds | Prime entry | | Central Hyrule Field Chasm | Open Hyrule Field | Most accessible early | | Deplian Badlands Chasm | NE Hyrule Field | Northern approach | | Eldin Foothills Chasm | South Eldin | East approach | | Lanayru Foothills Chasm | West Lanayru | Southeast entry |

Recommended first entry: Central Hyrule Field Chasm — lands you in the safe middle of the Central Depths lightroot cluster.

Lightroot Network

14 lightroots create a dense network across Central Hyrule Depths. Prioritize:

  1. Central Field lightroots (×4) — establish the hub, accessible on first run
  2. Hyrule Castle mirror lightroot — directly below the castle throne room
  3. Lost Woods mirror lightroot — connects to Korok Forest Depths area
  4. Lake Hylia mirror lightroot — southern boundary

The castle mirror lightroot requires navigating past Silver-tier enemies in the castle dungeon area. Bring your strongest weapons for this run.

Bargainer Statues

Central Depths has 4 Bargainer Statues — more than any other region:

| Statue | Location | Notes | |--------|----------|-------| | Central Field Statue | Near the main lightroot cluster | Easiest to reach | | Hyrule Castle Statue | Underground castle dungeon | Requires castle depths access | | West Hyrule Statue | Western Central Depths | Mid-game access | | East Hyrule Statue | Eastern Central Depths | Near Lanayru boundary |

Poe cost reminder: Depths Armor set costs 400 Poes total. The Central Depths' 4 statues let you trade all your accumulated Poes without traveling between regions.

High-Value Loot Zones

Hyrule Castle Dungeon (Underground)

The underground extension of Hyrule Castle contains:

  • Silver Bokoblin and Silver Moblin camps (highest monster-part drop quality)
  • Multiple chests with Large Crystallized Charges
  • The castle's Great Fairy underground mirror (decorative, not functional)
  • A Flux Construct III spawn zone — one of only 2 in the game

Ancient Zonai Palace Mirror

The Central Depths contains ruins believed to mirror the ancient Zonai palace that once stood where Hyrule Castle now stands. This area has:

  • Dense Medium Poe clusters (6+ Medium Poes in concentrated area)
  • Ancient Zonai tablets describing the construction of Hyrule
  • 2 Captain Constructs (reliable Large Zonai Charge drops)

Flux Construct III Guide

The Central Depths has one of the game's Flux Construct III encounters. This is the hardest Construct variant:

  • HP: ~1,400
  • Phase 3 unique attack: Spinning disc formation — approach from the rotation axis
  • Best weapons: Savage Lynel/Royal fused with Construct Horn III (50+ damage per swing)
  • Reward: Construct Horn III (×2–3 guaranteed), Construct Bow III, Large Zonai Charges (×3–4)

After defeating FC III, it respawns post-Blood Moon. Consider farming it routinely — Construct Horn III is the best Zonai fuse material in the game.

Enemy Difficulty Warning

Central Depths contains Silver-tier monsters — the hardest standard enemy variants:

| Enemy | HP | Notes | |-------|-----|-------| | Silver Bokoblin | ~600 | Multi-weapon, aggressive | | Silver Moblin | ~800 | Heavy clubs, hard-hitting | | Silver Lizalfos | ~500 | Fast, electric spit | | Silver Lynel | ~3000 | Rare, near Hyrule Castle dungeon |

These are significantly harder than other Depths enemies. Come with 5+ hearts, 10+ Bomb Arrows, and your strongest fused weapons.

Efficient Exploration Route

For maximum Central Depths coverage per run:

  1. Enter via Central Hyrule Field Chasm
  2. Activate the 4 field lightroots (fast travel network established)
  3. Work north toward Hyrule Castle mirror lightroot
  4. Clear Flux Construct III (respawn farming if available)
  5. Hit 2–3 Bargainer Statues to trade accumulated Poes
  6. Exit via Hyrule Castle Chasm for surface access

Time per complete run: 45–60 minutes.

Tips

  • Depths Armor is mandatory here — Silver-tier enemies hit hard and Gloom damage reduction is essential
  • Keep Bomb Arrows in large stock — the Silver enemy density rewards AOE more than anywhere else
  • Map the lightroots early — 14 lightroots means extensive surface map coverage; complete them before worrying about combat
  • FC III farming — Flux Construct III drops are the best fuse materials in the game; blood moon farming here is more valuable than any surface farm
  • Don't enter Hyrule Castle dungeon area underprepared — it's harder than the main game final boss approach for early/mid-game players
