Poe Locations Guide — Depths Farming & Bargainer Statues

Poes are the glowing blue spirits that haunt the Depths beneath Hyrule. There are 1,000 Poes total, and collecting them is the primary currency system of the Depths economy — traded at Bargainer Statues for exclusive armor sets, Autobuild schematics, and rare items unavailable anywhere else.

What Are Poes?

Poes appear as small, flickering light-blue floating orbs that drift slowly in the Depths darkness. They emit a faint blue glow — barely visible against the black until you get close. Walking into or striking a Poe automatically collects it and adds it to your running Poe count (visible in the Key Items section of your inventory).

Unlike Korok Seeds, Poes are not marked on the map by default. You locate them through active exploration and the faint blue glow they emit in the dark. All Poes respawn after each Blood Moon, making them farmable on a cycle rather than a one-time collectible.

How to See Poes in the Dark

The Depths is almost completely lightless — Poe hunting without preparation is extremely inefficient.

Essential visibility tools:

  • Large Brightbloom Seeds: Throw them ahead of you to create massive, long-lasting light domes. One Large Brightbloom illuminates a wide radius clearly enough to spot Poes at range. Farm Large Brightbloom Seeds from Sky Islands before descending.
  • Miner's Armor Set: Found in the Depths itself. The set bonus increases movement speed while you carry a light source, making lit exploration faster. Use with a torch or lamp for sustained lighting.
  • Autobuild vehicles with lights: Attach Brightbloom Seeds to Zonai device platforms using Ultrahand — creates a mobile lighting rig you can carry through dark corridors.

Once you know what Poe glow looks like (a distinct blue-white shimmer around chest height), they become recognizable from moderate distances.

Where Poes Cluster

Poes are distributed across the entire Depths but are significantly more dense in certain areas:

Travel Between Lightroots

The most reliable Poe strategy: navigate between Lightroots and sweep the corridors between them. Poe density is highest along these paths. The game places Poes where players are most likely to walk while activating the Lightroot network.

Activate all 120 Lightroots and you'll naturally collect the majority of available Poes simply by traveling the activation routes.

Near Chasm Entry Points

Poes cluster near the base of chasms — the holes you fall through from the surface into the Depths. After descending through any chasm, scan the landing area and surrounding terrain for nearby Poe clusters before moving on.

Along the Ancient Road Network

The Depths has a network of ancient roads built by the Zonai. Poes appear along roadsides and at road intersections — traveling the road network between Lightroots is both efficient navigation and efficient Poe collection.

In Alcoves and Dead Ends

Poes sometimes drift into off-path alcoves and dead-end side passages. Worth checking any side corridor you notice branching off the main path — a single Large Poe in an alcove is worth 20 Small Poes.

Bargainer Statues — Where to Trade

Bargainer Statues are large carved stone deity figures found throughout the Depths. There are 10 Bargainer Statues total:

  • 1 statue in Lookout Landing (surface) — accessible early in the main quest; this is where most players make their first trade
  • 9 statues scattered across the Depths — located near major Lightroots and junction points

All 10 Bargainer Statues share your Poe total — you can buy from any statue and it draws from the same pool. There's no need to return to a specific statue for specific items.

Finding Statues in the Depths

Bargainer Statues are located near significant Lightroots throughout the underground. As you activate the Lightroot network systematically, you'll naturally encounter most of the statues. They're large and distinctive — impossible to miss if you're exploring the Lightroot vicinity.

What You Can Buy

Dark Armor Set (Phantom Ganon Set)

The Dark Armor Set is the primary early-Depths purchase. It provides basic Gloom resistance that makes continued Depths exploration significantly safer.

| Item | Poe Cost | |------|----------| | Dark Hood | 150 Poes | | Dark Tunic | 150 Poes | | Dark Trousers | 150 Poes | | Full set total | 450 Poes |

Buy this first. The Gloom resistance makes the rest of your Depths work much more comfortable.

Depths Armor Set

A second complete armor set with its own stats and upgrade potential:

| Item | Poe Cost | |------|----------| | Depths Shirt | 150 Poes | | Depths Tights | 150 Poes | | Depths Tunic | 150 Poes | | Full set total | 450 Poes |

Autobuild Schematics

Bargainer Statues sell Autobuild schematics — saved Zonai construction blueprints that the Autobuild ability can auto-assemble using Zonaite.

| Schematic Type | Cost Range | |----------------|-----------| | Simple vehicle schematics | 100 Poes | | Medium vehicle schematics | 200 Poes | | Complex vehicle schematics | 300 Poes |

These include carts, gliders, and propeller platforms that would be difficult to build by hand under pressure. If you use Zonai devices frequently, schematics are among the most practical Poe purchases.

Consumables from Lookout Landing Statue

The Lookout Landing Bargainer Statue (surface) sells additional consumables:

  • Muddle Bud — 16 Poes; confuses enemies, one of the best crowd control items
  • Puffshroom — 16 Poes; creates an obscuring cloud for stealth
  • Bomb Flower — 16 Poes; Bomb Arrow material

These are excellent value for combat-focused players.

Efficient Poe Farming Routes

Strategy 1 — Lightroot Network Sweep

The baseline strategy: activate every Lightroot in a given region of the Depths and collect Poes along every path between activations. Use Large Brightbloom Seeds thrown 20–30 meters ahead to illuminate and spot Poes before you walk past them.

This approach is naturally efficient because Lightroot activation is already a full Depths completion goal — you're collecting Poes as a byproduct of exploration rather than making dedicated farming runs.

Strategy 2 — High-Density Zone Focus

Certain Depths regions have significantly higher Poe density:

  • Central Depths (beneath Hyrule Castle) — the highest-density zone in the game; Gloom is intense but Poe yield per minute is the best available. Equip full Gloom resistance before entering.
  • Eldin Depths — volcanic underground with dense Construct corridors; Poes cluster between Construct camps
  • Lanayru Depths — large open chambers make Poes visible at longer range, improving sweep efficiency

Strategy 3 — Blood Moon Timing

All Poes respawn after every Blood Moon. If you've already activated Lightroots and swept for Poes in a region, wait for a Blood Moon and then sweep the same routes again. The most efficient farming loop is to run a high-density zone, trigger or wait for a Blood Moon, then run the same zone again.

Priority Purchase Order

  1. Dark Armor Set (450 Poes) — Gloom resistance for safe Depths exploration
  2. Depths Armor Set (450 Poes) — second complete set for Great Fairy upgrades
  3. Autobuild Schematics (100–300 Poes each) — for Zonai device builders
  4. Consumables from Lookout Landing — Muddle Buds, Bomb Flowers as needed

With 1,000 total Poes available and 900 needed for both armor sets, dedicated Depths explorers who activate all Lightroots will have both sets plus schematic budget from natural exploration.
