Apogek Shrine
Apogek Shrine — Multi-Level Ascent
Location: Lanayru, Akkala border area Ability Required: Ultrahand, Ascend Difficulty: Medium — multi-layer vertical navigation
Overview
Apogek Shrine stacks three layers of puzzles on top of each other — literally. Each floor requires a different combination of Ultrahand construction and Ascend to reach the next level. Navigation flows entirely upward, testing spatial reasoning across three distinct mechanical challenges.
Preparation
- Ascend required (Great Sky Island tutorial)
- No combat
- Takes 10–12 minutes
Walkthrough
Floor 1 — Staircase Access
- The entrance is at ground level. The exit is on the second floor, accessible through a ceiling hatch.
- Use Ultrahand to stack 3 stone blocks into a tower beneath the ceiling hatch.
- Climb the tower and use Ascend through the hatch ceiling to emerge on Floor 2.
Floor 2 — Suspended Platform
- Floor 2 has a large gap in the center. A platform hangs from the ceiling by chains in the middle of the gap.
- Use Ultrahand to pull the hanging platform toward your side of the gap. Drop down and land on it, then let it swing back to the center.
- From the hanging platform's center position, use Ascend to pass through the platform's thin floor — you emerge on Floor 3 through the platform itself.
Floor 3 — Final Climb
- Floor 3 has a tall chamber with the altar at the very top.
- A large box and a slab are available. Stack the box, then lay the slab on top at an angle against the wall, creating a ramp.
- Ascend through the slab surface to the ledge above, then walk to the altar.
Altar
Collect your Light of Blessing.
Tips
- Ascend through platforms: Ascend works through any solid horizontal surface above you — hanging platforms, floor slabs, stacked boxes. If you're directly under it and it's solid, Ascend passes through.
- Hanging platform angle: In Floor 2, you don't need the platform perfectly centered to Ascend through it — anywhere on the platform works. Pull it toward you, drop down, and Ascend immediately.
- Floor 3 slab angle: The slab ramp doesn't need to be at a perfect angle for Ascend to work — as long as the surface is above Link, Ascend activates regardless of the angle. Use it as a direct ceiling-pass rather than a walkable ramp.
- Chest on Floor 2: After ascending to Floor 3, look for a small ledge on the east wall of Floor 2 (visible from Floor 3 through the gap) — use the hanging platform to access it on the way back if you missed it.
- Efficiency route: Experienced players skip the Floor 1 staircase entirely by Ascending directly through the thin ceiling of a side alcove near the entrance. Explore the perimeter for shortcut options.
