In-isa Shrine
In-isa Shrine — The Ability to Fuse
Location: Great Sky Island (Sky Layer), lower southern section Coordinates: 0338, -1580, 1467 Abilities Required: Ultrahand (from Ukouh Shrine) — Fuse granted here Type: Tutorial Shrine — second of four Great Sky Island tutorials Difficulty: Easy
Overview
In-isa Shrine introduces Fuse — the ability to permanently attach materials to weapons, shields, and arrows to fundamentally change their properties. A plain stick becomes a crushing rock hammer. An arrow becomes a homing seeker. A weapon's base damage doubles. Fuse is the primary system for extending weapon durability and creating combat tools throughout TotK — every weapon you find should be Fused with the best material available. This shrine teaches weapon Fuse (wall-breaking), arrow Fuse (homing), and combat with a Fused weapon.
Location Details
In-isa Shrine is in the lower southern section of Great Sky Island, near the island's second main plateau. From the Ukouh Shrine area (island entrance), descend the southern ramp toward the jungle-like lower section — the shrine is visible on the plateau below. From Rauru's Sanctum, head south down the stone path and descend to the lower island tier. The shrine entrance faces north.
Temperature: No cold hazard at this section of the island — temperate with standard conditions.
Preparation
- No abilities required — Fuse is granted at the shrine entrance
- Ultrahand from Ukouh Shrine needed (to retrieve blocks for chest access)
- No temperature gear needed — this zone of Great Sky Island is temperate
- No prior weapons required — the shrine provides all necessary equipment internally
Detailed Walkthrough
Ability Grant — Fuse
- Approach the sigil at the shrine entrance.
- A short cutscene — Rauru grants you the Fuse ability.
- Tutorial prompt: while holding a weapon, press and hold Y to enter Fuse mode. Aim at a material on the ground to attach it.
How Fuse works:
- Weapon Fuse: Hold Y, aim at material on ground → attaches to weapon end permanently
- Arrow Fuse: While drawing bow (ZR), press Up D-Pad → material menu for arrows → select material → Fuse to next arrow
- Shield Fuse: While holding shield, hold Y + aim at material → attaches to shield
- Fused materials increase damage, add elemental effects, or change the weapon's behavior
- Fused weapons cannot be un-Fused — the material is consumed on weapon break
Step 1 — Weapon Fuse: Break the Cracked Wall
- Grab the Rusty Claymore from the weapon rack on the right side of the entry room.
- A large boulder sits on the floor ahead.
- Hold Y to activate Fuse mode — aim at the boulder.
- Confirm — the boulder attaches to the Rusty Claymore's end. Attack power roughly doubles; the weapon now has a crushing stone head.
- Ahead is a cracked stone wall blocking the path.
- Swing the boulder-claymore at the cracked wall — 2–3 hits smash through it.
- Proceed to the chasm room.
Step 2 — Arrow Fuse: Homing Shot
- The chasm room has an orange switch target floating across a wide gap — unreachable on foot or direct arrow.
- Pick up the Bow from the rack near the chasm edge.
- Draw the bow (ZR, hold). While aiming, press Up on D-Pad — the arrow material menu opens.
- Select a Keese Eyeball from the available items (provided by the shrine or in your inventory).
- Fire — the Keese Eyeball arrow auto-homes on the nearest target (the switch). It arcs and hits regardless of your precise aim.
- Switch activated → door opens.
Chest access: With the door open, use Ultrahand to grab a crate or stone block from the chasm room and stack it against the left wall's raised ledge. Climb up and collect the chest. Contains Opal — 60 rupees value or early Fuse material for water effects.
Step 3 — Combat with Fused Weapon
- A Soldier Construct I guards the exit corridor. It has basic HP and a standard weapon.
- Use your boulder-claymore or Fuse another stone to any remaining weapon.
- The boulder's bonus damage makes this fight quick — 2–3 hits with a Fused weapon compared to 5–6 without.
- Defeat the Construct → path to altar clears.
Altar Chamber
Walk to Rauru's statue. Interact for your Light of Blessing.

Tips
- Fuse everything: Even low-quality Fused weapons beat unfused weapons. The moment you pick up any weapon, immediately Fuse the best material in your inventory to it.
- Boulder advantage: Boulders are one of the highest damage Fuse materials per-unit — they triple a weak weapon's attack and are found everywhere on the surface. Fuse boulders to any weapon as a temporary upgrade until you find better materials.
- Keese Eyeball homing range: Fused Keese Eyeball arrows home on the nearest enemy within approximately 20 meters. In the overworld, use them for flying enemies (Keese, Aerocuda) that are difficult to track manually.
- Arrow Fuse conservation: Arrow materials are consumed when the arrow hits or misses. Rare materials (dragon parts, Lynel bows) should not be Fused to arrows unnecessarily — save them for Fusing to weapons where they persist until weapon breakage.
- Shield Fuse preview: The Soldier Construct here drops a Construct Shield after defeat. Try Fusing a spiked material (like a Construct Horn) to the shield — this creates a shield with spike damage that hurts enemies who try to parry it.
