Jumosato Shrine
Jumosato Shrine
Region: Depths
Type: Combat
Difficulty: ★★★★★ (5/5)
Reward: Light of Blessing + Sage of the Depths Medallion (chest)
Overview
Jumosato Shrine is a combat trial shrine in the Depths region. Prepare for an intense battle — this shrine strips away the puzzle elements and tests your fighting instincts directly. Study your enemy before engaging, use the environment to your advantage, and never fight fair when the shrine has given you tools to be clever.
Region Notes
The Depths mirror the surface world below ground, filled with Gloom that permanently reduces maximum hearts until healed by Sundelions or Bright Elixirs. Lightroots illuminate sections of the map. The Depths contain Pristine weapons — uncorrupted versions of surface weapons at peak power.
Walkthrough
Step 2:
The arena is unlike any other shrine — it is 200 meters across, simulating an open Depths environment rather than a closed room. Three enemies patrol it: a Silver Lynel, a Gloom Hands cluster (5 hands), and a Flux Construct III. All three are active simultaneously and will assist each other if you engage any one near the others.
Step 3:
The mandatory strategy is isolation. Lead each enemy to a separate arena quadrant using thrown items as bait. The Gloom Hands are slowest — isolate them in the northern quarter first by throwing a Brightbloom Seed burst near them (they recoil from light). The Flux Construct III stays stationary unless attacked — ignore it last. The Silver Lynel patrols the center; lure it south using an arrow near its patrol path.
Step 4:
Defeat Gloom Hands first (bomb arrow cluster method), then Silver Lynel (mount cycle), then Flux Construct III (Ultrahand core removal). Each enemy must be defeated separately before the next becomes fully aggressive.
Step 5:
After all three fall, the altar rises from the arena center. Claim the final Light of Blessing of the Depths. The chest contains the Sage of the Depths Medallion — a unique collectible that unlocks a bonus cutscene depicting all six Sages acknowledging Link's mastery of the Depths. Ability needed: Ultrahand (for Flux Construct). This is the ultimate Depths challenge — prepare fully.
Abilities Required
- Ultrahand — Move, rotate, and attach objects in the environment.
Chests
- The chest contains the Sage of the Depths Medallion — a unique collectible that unlocks a bonus cutscene depicting all six Sages acknowledging Link's mastery of the Depths.
Strategy Notes
Combat shrines in Depths reward preparation and observation. Survey the arena before engaging any enemy — identify chokepoints, elevated positions, and available weapons. Use the environment as a force multiplier: height advantage adds damage, obstacles break enemy line-of-sight, and the shrine's provided items are tuned to the encounter.
Flurry Rush (triggered by a perfect dodge at the right moment) deals massive bonus damage and is the key to defeating challenging combat shrine enemies efficiently. Practice the timing on weaker enemies in the overworld before facing shrine combat trials.
