Kasio Shrine
Kasio Shrine — Construct III: Final Exam
Location: Necluda Region, east Necluda coast Type: Combat Trial Shrine — Construct III Solo Fight Difficulty: ★★★★☆ (4/5) — Hard Coordinates: 3724, -2488, 0148 Required Ability: Advanced combat (Ice Arrow stagger control, double-dodge timing) Reward: Light of Blessing
Overview
Kasio Shrine is Necluda's hardest combat trial — a solo Soldier Construct III fight designed as the culmination of Necluda's combat skill progression (after Tokiy → Dujonin → Kasio). The Construct III has significantly more HP than earlier Constructs, hits harder, has faster recovery windows, and introduces a devastating two-hit combo (sweep + slam) with a tight double-dodge window. The recommended strategy uses Ice Arrows as stagger control — each ice hit freezes the Construct for 3 seconds, enabling a guaranteed burst damage window. Players who don't bring ice arrows fight a much harder version of this encounter.
Preparation
| Item | Quantity | Priority | |------|----------|---------| | Ice Arrows | 20+ | CRITICAL — primary stagger control | | Strong weapon (40+ attack) | 2–3 | Maximizes burst damage per stagger window | | Fire Arrows | 10 | Backup damage; element bonus applies | | Hearty meals (5+) | 5+ | Buffer for missed dodge windows | | Attack-boosting food (optional) | 1 | Pop before fight or after first stagger |
Why ice arrows: Ice arrows freeze the Construct III on direct hit for ~3 seconds. Frozen = cannot attack. During the freeze window, you deal full melee damage. The cycle of freeze → burst → back off → freeze is the safest and fastest clear pattern.
Enemy Overview — Soldier Construct III
| Stat | Value | |------|-------| | HP | ~280 | | Primary weapon | Zonai Spear | | Sweep attack | Wide horizontal arc (opens most encounters) | | Two-hit combo | Horizontal sweep → vertical slam (0.4s between hits) | | Charge attack | Sprint rush across arena (fires at ~50% HP) | | Stagger on ice hit | 3 seconds frozen | | Recovery speed | Fast — 0.8 seconds after any combo, faster than Construct II |
Walkthrough
Opening — Double-Dodge Window (High Reward, High Risk)
The Construct III opens the fight with its signature two-hit combo: a wide horizontal sweep followed by a vertical downward slam, 0.4 seconds apart.
Double-dodge for double Flurry Rush:
- As the Construct III approaches, watch for the sweep wind-up (it pulls the spear back to its right)
- Dodge sideways (left) on the sweep — if timed perfectly, Flurry Rush triggers
- After the Flurry Rush, the slam comes immediately (0.4 seconds) — dodge sideways again without stopping
- If the second dodge is also perfect, a second consecutive Flurry Rush triggers
- Two Flurry Rush bursts from the opener removes ~40% of the Construct III's HP
If the double-dodge fails: The slam deals ~4 hearts. Fall back on the ice arrow stagger strategy and don't force the double-dodge again — the stagger cycle is slower but safe.
Double-dodge timing: Practice: dodge on the sound of the sweep wind-up, not the impact. The Flurry Rush window is 0.3 seconds before the sweep hits. The slam follows 0.4 seconds after the sweep regardless of Flurry Rush activation — dodge again immediately after the first Flurry Rush finishes.
Primary Strategy — Ice Arrow Stagger Cycle
This is the reliable, repeatable clear pattern regardless of double-dodge success:
One cycle:
- Draw your bow at medium range (5–8 meters)
- Fire one Ice Arrow at the Construct III's body (torso or legs — no headshot needed, direct hit suffices)
- The Construct III freezes in place for 3 seconds (visual: white ice crystals form over it)
- Sprint close and unleash 4–5 melee hits with your strongest weapon
- Back off before the freeze ends (watch the ice crystals diminishing)
- When free, the Construct III resumes attacking — dodge any immediate response
- Repeat from step 1
Ice arrow budget: Each arrow = one stagger window. At 40+ attack, 5 hits per window = 200+ damage per cycle. With 280 HP, approximately 2 full cycles clear the fight (plus opening damage). 6–8 arrows are sufficient; carry 20 for margin.
Charge rush (appears at ~50% HP):
At approximately 50% HP, the Construct III adds a sprint charge to its pattern:
- Visual: torso lowers, spear angles forward, it accelerates
- Dodge timing: sideways at the last moment (0.3 seconds before contact) → Flurry Rush
- The charge Flurry Rush window is generous — one of the easier perfect dodge triggers in the game
- Use the charge Flurry Rush as a bonus burst window on top of your ice arrow cycle
Stagger Cycle — Damage Numbers
| Scenario | Hits per Window | Damage (40 attack) | Cycles to Clear | |----------|----------------|-------------------|----------------| | No ice arrows (melee only) | 3 (must dodge after) | ~120 | ~2–3 | | Ice arrow stagger (40 atk) | 5 guaranteed | ~200 | ~1.5 | | Ice arrow + Attack food | 5 guaranteed | ~280 | ~1 | | Double Flurry Rush opener | 12 (6+6) | ~480 | — (major burst) |
Chest — Altar Antechamber
After the Construct III is defeated:
- A gate opens at the far end of the arena leading to a short antechamber
- The chest is in this antechamber, on the left side
- Contains a Royal Guard's Spear or Savage Lynel Bow — high-tier loot
Altar
Walk to Rauru's statue and collect your Light of Blessing.
Chest Summary
| Chest | Location | Contents | |-------|----------|----------| | Altar antechamber | Left side, through post-combat gate | Royal Guard's Spear or Savage Lynel Bow |
Tips & Strategy
- Ice arrows are mandatory: Fighting Kasio without ice arrows means fighting without stagger control. The Construct III's fast recovery gives almost no free melee window between dodges without freezing it first. Don't enter without 15+ ice arrows.
- Double-dodge is optional: The opener double-dodge is the highest reward window in the fight but also the most timing-sensitive. If you can do it, great — 40% HP removed in 3 seconds. If you can't, the ice stagger cycle clears the fight cleanly; it just takes longer.
- Retreat is valid: The arena is flat and open. Backing away from the Construct III resets its approach — it walks toward you rather than rushing until the charge triggers at 50%. Use this to control the pacing between ice stagger cycles.
- Fire arrows as backup: Fire arrows deal bonus elemental damage even without stagger. If ice runs out, fire arrows + timing-based dodges can finish the fight — just less efficiently.
- Construct III recovery speed: Unlike Construct II, the III recovers to attacking stance in 0.8 seconds after any combo. This means 3-hit melee combos (not 5) before the back-off are safer — exiting after 4+ hits risks getting hit during your own combo recovery.
- Necluda readiness check: Kasio is the hardest surface combat shrine in Necluda. Clearing it cleanly signals readiness for the depths exploration, Hateno Ancient Lab quests, and the East Necluda Sea content.
