Makurukis Shrine — Recall in Motion

Overview

Makurukis Shrine is a dedicated Recall puzzle shrine — every room requires using Recall to reverse the motion of platforms and objects. Unlike the tutorial shrine (Nachoyah), the platforms here have complex paths and multi-step sequences that require precise Recall timing.

• No combat
• Takes 8–12 minutes

Walkthrough

Room 1 — Rising Platform

1. A platform slowly descends from the ceiling to the floor on a cable. You need to reach the upper ledge — but the platform is currently descending (going down, not up).
2. Wait for the platform to fully descend to floor level.
3. Stand on the platform and activate Recall on it — it reverses course and rises back toward the ceiling.
4. Ride it to the ceiling level and jump off onto the upper ledge.

Room 2 — Back-and-Forth Platform

1. A platform slides left and right along a horizontal track. The exit is on the left side, but the platform is currently sliding right.
2. Activate Recall on the platform — it reverses and slides left.
3. Board the platform mid-slide and ride it to the left exit ledge. Jump off when it arrives.

Room 3 — Spinning Platform

1. A circular platform rotates clockwise around a central pillar. Two exits: one at 12 o'clock (high) and one at 6 o'clock (low). You need the high exit.
2. The platform is currently at the 6 o'clock position.
3. Activate Recall on the platform — it reverses to counterclockwise rotation.
4. Board it and ride it counterclockwise up to the 12 o'clock position (the high exit). Jump off onto the exit ledge.

Tips

• Recall duration: Recall reverses an object's path for as long as the ability is active. The path it traces is the exact reverse of its last 10 seconds of movement.
• Board while Recall is active: You can stand on a Recall-reversed platform without reactivating Recall — just board it and it carries you.
• Room 1 timing: The platform rises at the same speed it descended. The journey takes ~8 seconds. Don't jump off early — wait until you're even with the upper ledge.
• Room 3 boarding: The rotating platform moves continuously. Board it from any point along its path — you don't need to be at the 6 o'clock starting position.
• Chest in Room 2: The platform's back-and-forth path passes by a chest alcove at the far right end of the track. Ride the Recall platform all the way right (don't jump off at the exit) to reach it, then activate Recall again to come back.
