Ninjis Shrine — Electric Circuit

Location: The Depths, Lanayru Depths region Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Medium — electrical circuit puzzle

Overview

Ninjis Shrine is an electrical circuit puzzle set in the Depths. You connect metal conductors to complete circuits that power mechanisms and open gates. Metal objects conduct electricity — Link included, if he touches a live wire. Careful routing and isolation are key.

Preparation

  • Rubber Armor (provides shock resistance) is very helpful but not required
  • Don't equip metal armor/weapons while standing on the circuit board
  • No combat
  • Takes 8–12 minutes

Walkthrough

Room 1 — Close the Circuit

  1. An electrical emitter on the left and a receiver on the right are separated by a gap. Current won't flow without a conductor bridging the gap.
  2. A metal rod lies on the floor (safe when not in the circuit path). Use Ultrahand to bridge the rod between the emitter post and the receiver post.
  3. The circuit closes — the receiver lights up, opening the gate.

Room 2 — Non-Conducting Bridge

  1. Room 2 has a similar circuit setup, but you need to cross the room yourself while the circuit is active.
  2. The metal rod bridges the circuit (as before). But the path across also has a metal floor plate — stepping on it will electrocute Link.
  3. Use Ultrahand to pick up a wooden board on the side and lay it across the metal floor plate as an insulating bridge.
  4. Walk across the wood to bypass the electrified floor and reach the exit.

Room 3 — Multi-Node Circuit

  1. Three nodes in a row: emitter → junction 1 → junction 2 → receiver. Each gap needs a conductor.
  2. Two metal rods are available — one for each gap.
  3. Place rod 1 between the emitter and junction 1. Place rod 2 between junction 2 and receiver.
  4. When both gaps are bridged, the full circuit completes and the altar gate opens.

Tips

  • Metal conducts, wood insulates: Metal armor, metal weapons in hand, metal floor plates — all conduct electricity if you touch a live circuit. Use wooden items as safe bridges.
  • Don't hold metal while the circuit is active: If you're holding a metal weapon in your hand and touch a live circuit node, you get shocked. Swap to a wooden weapon or put your weapon away before crossing.
  • Rod placement precision: The rods need to touch both contact points to close the circuit. Place each end precisely on the posts — a gap of even 10cm breaks the connection.
  • Room 3 junction: The junction nodes in Room 3 are tall metal pillars. The rods can rest horizontally across the top of two adjacent pillars. Align them carefully.
  • Chest in Room 2: There's a chest in the upper right corner of Room 2, behind an electrified gate. After completing the main circuit, there's a secondary switch on the wall that cuts power to the chest gate — find and hit it (a small non-electrified lever) to access the chest safely.

Chest Summary

| # | Contents | Location | |---|----------|----------| | 1 | Rubber Helm | Room 2 — upper right corner behind an electrified gate. Hit the wall lever to cut power to the gate first. |
