Rekimura Shrine — Depths Cartographer's Blessing

Location: Central Depths — exact center of the Depths map Coordinates: 0028, -0014, -0520 (Depths layer) Abilities Required: None Type: Rauru's Blessing — prerequisite side quest required Difficulty: Easy (interior) / High (Depths navigation prerequisite)

Overview

Rekimura Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine deep in the Depths, unlocked by completing the Depths Poe Collection side quest. There is no puzzle or combat inside — the trial was navigating the Depths, collecting Poes, and finding the Cartographer NPC who reveals the shrine's location. As one of the most remote shrines in the game, reaching it requires extensive Depths preparation: Gloom resistance, a full stock of Brightbloom seeds and Sundelions, and a mapped route through the central Depths. The rewards — Light of Blessing plus two chests including the Depths Cartographer's Final Map — are among the most lore-rich items in TotK.

Unlock Requirements — Depths Poe Collection Quest

Step 1: Reach the Depths

Descend into the Depths through any chasm (the Great Chasm at Hyrule Castle is the most central entry point). The Depths are dark — use Brightbloom Seeds to illuminate paths and Lightroots to permanently light zones and add them to your map.

Gloom protection: Carry at least 8 Sundelion meals (Sundelions found on sky islands — Sky-Blue Sundelion is the most efficient). Gloom from Depths floor contact permanently reduces maximum hearts until healed with Sundelion food or Bright Elixirs.

Step 2: Collect 300 Poes

Poes are blue spirit-like collectibles scattered throughout the Depths. They drop from Poe-type enemies and appear as floating blue lights near Lightroot locations.

Poe farming route:

  1. Activate each Lightroot you encounter — each Lightroot area has 5–15 Poes in its illuminated zone
  2. Defeat blue Poe enemies near dark areas — each drops 1–3 Poes
  3. Bargainer Statues throughout the Depths buy Poes for rewards (Depths-exclusive armor, weapons)
  4. Track your count at any Bargainer Statue's dialogue menu

Step 3: Find the Depths Cartographer

With 300+ Poes collected, locate the Depths Cartographer NPC. She stands near the Central Depths Lightroot (Nisoij Lightroot, near coordinates 0, 0 in the Depths layer). She is identifiable by a Zonai lantern and survey equipment.

Speak to her. She acknowledges your thorough Depths exploration and reveals the location of Rekimura Shrine — the shrine at the exact center of the Depths map.

Step 4: Travel to the Shrine

The shrine is at approximately 0028, -0014 in Depths coordinates — the geographic center of the entire Depths zone. If you're already near the Cartographer at the Central Lightroot, the shrine is within 200 meters. Follow the shrine marker.

Inside the Shrine — Rauru's Blessing

No puzzle. Walk directly to the altar.

Treasure chests (2):

  1. Left chest: Poe x50 — automatically added to your Poe collection total
  2. Right chest: Depths Cartographer's Final Map — a lore document identifying all major Lightroot locations with their Zonai names and the surface shrines each corresponds to (Lightroot names are anagrams of their matched shrine names)

Altar

Interact with Rauru's statue for your Light of Blessing.

Chest Summary

| # | Contents | Location | |---|----------|----------| | 1 | Poe x50 | Left chest in the blessing corridor. Added to your Poe collection total. | | 2 | Depths Cartographer's Final Map | Right chest in the blessing corridor. Lore document mapping all Lightroot-Shrine anagram pairs. |

Depths Survival Guide

| Hazard | Protection | Source | |--------|-----------|--------| | Gloom (floor contact) | Sundelion meals | Sky islands — farm before descent | | Darkness | Brightbloom Seeds | Found in caves, sold at shops | | Gloom (enemy damage) | Heal after combat | Sundelion dishes restore permanently | | Navigation | Lightroot activation | Each Lightroot reveals a map section |

Tips

  • Lightroot-first navigation: Activate every Lightroot you pass before exploring its zone. Each one permanently illuminates its area and adds map data — critical for finding the Cartographer and the shrine.
  • Poe tracking: The Bargainer Statue's dialogue always shows your current Poe total. Check it after each Depths session to track progress toward 300.
  • Anagram key: Every Lightroot name is an anagram of a surface shrine. "Nisoij" = "Jiukoum". "Sikukiy" = "Kyokugou". Use this to cross-reference surface shrine locations with Depths structures directly below them.
  • Pristine weapons: The Depths' Gloom Hands and Boss Bokoblin enemies near Lightroots drop Pristine (uncorroded) weapons at peak attack — worth farming on the way to the Cartographer.
  • Depth entrance closest to center: The Hyrule Castle Chasm drops you near the Depths center — fastest route to the Central Lightroot and Rekimura.

Nearby Points of Interest (Depths Layer)

  • Central Depths Lightroot (Nisoij) — directly adjacent; activate for map and healing point
  • Bargainer Statue — Central Depths — near the Cartographer; exchange Poes for Depths-exclusive armor pieces
  • Gloom Hands Boss Spawn — east of center; high-risk/reward encounter drops Phantom Ganon armor
  • Central Depths Forge — northwest; Zonai device dispenser with rare construction materials
