Wulonir Shrine
Wulonir Shrine — Snowfield Archery Trial
Location: Hebra Snowfield / Rimewise region, central snowfield Coordinates: (-4526, 2688, 0212) Type: Combat / Archery Shrine Difficulty: Medium
Overview
Wulonir Shrine is an archery and ranged combat trial in the vast Hebra Snowfield — a shrine that tests precision shooting against Shrine Constructs at various distances and movement conditions. The cold exterior and remote location make reaching Wulonir a challenge in itself, but the shrine's interior is focused and fair: each room presents a clear archery problem with defined solutions. Players who complete Wulonir emerge with significantly improved bow accuracy and arrow resource management — skills critical for the difficult Hinox, Lynel, and Gleeok encounters throughout Hyrule.
Preparation
- A mid-tier bow with 3+ draw speed — a Construct Bow or Traveler's Bow works; bring 30+ arrows
- Ice Arrows or Ice Fruit arrows for one specific room
- Snowquill Set for the exterior Rimewise approach — extreme cold
- No melee combat inside — all encounters are purely archery
- Energizing Elixirs for stamina during the exterior snowfield traversal
Walkthrough
Room 1: Stationary Target Practice
The first room has three Constructs standing motionless at 10m, 20m, and 30m distances respectively. Head-shot each with a standard arrow. The headshot indicator (golden flash on hit) confirms critical damage. At 30m, account for arrow drop by aiming slightly higher than center mass. Three headshots, three Constructs down.
Room 2: Moving Targets
The second room has two Constructs moving laterally on tracks — one moving left, one moving right. Lead each target: aim where it will be when the arrow arrives, not where it currently is. At 15m distance, lead by approximately 1 body width for a Construct moving at standard track speed. Both Constructs must be defeated within 30 seconds of the first attack — they respawn after 30 seconds if not both down.
Room 3: Elevated Sniping
The third room has three Constructs on elevated platforms at varying heights — low (5m above floor), mid (10m), and high (18m). The high target requires maximum elevation aim. From the provided elevated shooting platform (2m above the floor), the angle to the high target is steep but manageable with a strong bow. Headshots remain the most efficient — aim is harder at extreme elevation angles.
Room 4: Ice Arrow Challenge
The final room has a Construct protected by a fire barrier — standard arrows burn up before reaching it. Use Ice Fruit arrows to pierce through the fire barrier (the cold suppresses the fire on contact) and hit the Construct directly. Three Ice Arrow hits defeat it. The fire barrier is 5 meters wide at 10m range — aim directly through the center.
Step 5: Altar
Defeat all room challenges to open the final gate. The altar is ahead. Collect your Light of Blessing. The chest contains a Triple-Shot Bow — one of the game's most powerful bows, firing three arrows per shot.
Tips
- Arrow drop increases with distance — account for it on 25m+ shots by aiming 10-15% above center
- Moving target timing: observe one full traversal cycle before shooting to calibrate the lead distance
- Elevated targets (Room 3): the shooting platform provided brings you to a height that makes the steep angle workable — use it
- Ice Fruit arrows pierce fire barriers because the cold contact immediately suppresses flame on the arrow's flight path
- Conserve high-quality arrows (multishot, ice) for specific rooms — standard arrows work for Rooms 1, 2, and 3
