Spirit Temple Guide — Mineru, Construct Boss & Secret Stone
Spirit Temple Guide — Mineru's Construct & the Depths Temple
The Spirit Temple is TotK's hidden fifth temple — found deep in the Depths beneath Gerudo desert, not on the surface map. You pilot Mineru's Construct (a massive Zonai mech) rather than fighting on foot. This guide covers how to find it, all terminal sequences, and the Seized Construct boss fight.
Prerequisites
- All 4 surface temples completed (Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning) — Spirit Temple does not appear until all 4 sages are collected
- Dragon's Tears quests: Follow the geoglyphs — the Spirit Temple questline triggers from the final memory sequence
- Descent to the Depths: You'll need a Brightbloom Seed supply and Shock Resistance if possible
Finding the Spirit Temple
The Spirit Temple is NOT on the surface. It's located in the Depths directly below the Gerudo region.
Step 1 — Reach Abandoned Gerudo Mine:
- Drop into the Gerudo Depths via a chasm in the Gerudo Desert (the large chasm northwest of Gerudo Town)
- Activate Lightroots as you descend to maintain Gloom protection
- Navigate west in the Depths — follow the Gloom-free path lit by Lightroots
- Reach Abandoned Gerudo Mine (large structure in the west Depths)
Step 2 — The Construct Room:
- Inside the mine, find the chamber with Mineru's Construct (deactivated mech)
- Mineru speaks to you — she explains the construct is her body but needs power
- She lists 4 power cores scattered through the Depths nearby
The 4 Power Cores
Mineru's Construct needs 4 Zonai power cores before it activates. Each is in a separate Depths chamber near the Abandoned Gerudo Mine.
Power Core 1 — Eastern Chamber
- Exit mine heading east
- Gloom floor in this section — keep moving
- The core is on a pedestal defended by a Construct Guardian
- Defeat the Guardian (fire arrows effective) → collect the core
Power Core 2 — Northern Tunnel
- Head north from the main mine entrance
- Tunnel system leads to a sealed chamber
- Puzzle: Three Zonai fans on the ceiling — Ultrahand them to redirect airflow and open the gate
- Core is behind the gate
Power Core 3 — Underground Lake
- Southwest of the mine, a body of water in the Depths
- Core is on the lake floor — dive to retrieve
- Waterblight-type enemies patrol — avoid or defeat
Power Core 4 — High Platform
- East of the main mine, a tall stone pillar structure
- The core is at the top — use Ascend through the pillar or Zonai fans to reach the platform
- No enemy — straightforward retrieval
After all 4 cores: Return to Mineru's Construct chamber → insert all 4 cores → the construct activates → Mineru possesses it → you pilot the mech
Piloting Mineru's Construct
Mineru's mech transforms combat completely:
Controls:
- Move normally — mech moves with you
- Grab: Mineru's arms can grab enemies and objects (mech version of Ultrahand)
- Attack: Mech punches — high damage, but slow
- Attach weapons/devices: Zonai devices can be attached to the mech's arms for ranged attacks
Mech capabilities:
- Immune to Gloom floor damage (the mech body absorbs it)
- Can pick up and throw large enemies
- Attach cannons/lasers to the arms for ranged combat
Mech durability: The mech takes damage — if badly damaged, it temporarily stalls. Keep Zonai charges on hand to repair via Fuse mechanics.
Spirit Temple Terminal Sequence
With Mineru's mech active, the Spirit Temple proper opens. It's a 5-terminal dungeon inside the mech-accessible cavern.
Terminal 1 — Entry Chamber
The first terminal is immediately inside the temple entrance. With the mech:
- Use the mech's grab to move the large stone block blocking the crystal
- Crystal exposed → Mineru fires a lightning bolt → terminal activates
Terminal 2 — Fire Trap Room
- Room filled with fire pillars — the mech takes reduced damage but they still matter
- Crystal is behind a moving fire pillar
- Time your move: fire pillar retracts → mech grabs the pillar mechanism (Ultrahand) → holds it away from crystal → Mineru fires
Terminal 3 — Construct Battle Room
- Two Construct Guardians activate when you enter
- Use the mech to grab-and-throw them against each other
- Crystal activates only after both Constructs are destroyed
Terminal 4 — Water Channel
- The mech can wade through water channels in this section
- Crystal is surrounded by an electric barrier — similar to Lightning Temple puzzle
- Mineru can discharge electricity through the mech to bridge the circuit and deactivate the barrier
- Fire after deactivation
Terminal 5 — Top of Temple
- Ascend to the temple's upper level via the mech (it can climb steps and platforms)
- Crystal is in the center of a large circular room
- Multiple Gloom floor sections — mech protects you completely
- Direct shot → Terminal 5
Seized Construct — Boss Fight
With 5 terminals active → the Seized Construct appears. This is Mineru's corrupted counterpart.
Phase 1 — Mirror Match
The Seized Construct mimics Mineru's mech. Both mechs are roughly equal in strength.
Strategy:
- Use grab → throw the Seized Construct off balance
- While it recovers → mech punch combo
- Attach a Zonai cannon to your arm for ranged damage between grabs
Key attack — energy beam: The Seized Construct fires an energy beam. Either dodge (sidestep mech) or grab the beam emitter arm and break it off (prevents reuse).
Phase 2 — Core Exposed
At roughly 50% HP, the Seized Construct's chest opens → vulnerable core glowing inside.
Phase 2 strategy:
- Grab the Seized Construct → hold it still
- Mineru fires directly at the exposed core
- Or attach a laser cannon → sustained fire at the core while held
- The Construct flails — hold grip and keep attacking
- 3-4 sustained core hits → phase ends
Phase 3 — Frenzied Attack
Below 25% HP, the Seized Construct goes into a frenzied fast-attack mode:
- Rapid punches → dodge or block with mech arms
- Grab becomes harder — it breaks free faster
- Focus on core hits when you land a grab
Final burst: When core begins flashing → the Seized Construct is near death → maximum damage attack on the core finishes it.
Rewards
- Heart Container (or Stamina Vessel exchange)
- Mineru Sage's Vow — she permanently joins as the 5th sage
- Secret Stone insight — memory sequence revealing Rauru's era backstory
- Spirit Temple clears → all 5 sages collected → access to the final dungeon path
Quick Tips
- Mech + Ancient Armor doesn't stack — the mech already protects from Gloom floor. Don't waste a slot on Ancient Armor during mech sections.
- Zonai cannon on arm — before the boss, attach a Zonai cannon to Mineru's arm. It provides ranged damage between grabs and trivializes Phase 2 core targeting.
- Power core order — the cores can be collected in any order. Start with the nearest (Eastern Chamber) and work outward. The Underground Lake core is most disorienting — use a Lightroot to orient yourself before diving.
- Mech damage is real — don't stand in fire trap rooms waiting. The mech's HP depletes like Link's hearts. Move through fire rooms quickly.
- Grab everything — the Seized Construct boss is significantly easier if you use the grab liberally. Grabbed enemies can't attack. The whole fight is grab → damage → grab → damage.
