Weapon Fusion Tier List — Best Fuse Combinations

Fuse turns every weapon into a custom build. This tier list ranks fuse materials and combinations by raw combat effectiveness, availability, and situational value. Use it to maximize your damage output without wasting rare materials on the wrong weapons.

How Fuse Damage Works

Total damage = Base weapon attack + Fuse material bonus

The fuse bonus adds directly. A Soldier's Broadsword (16 atk) + Silver Lynel Saber Horn (+55) = 71 total attack. Base weapon quality matters less than the fuse material — which is why the best weapon tier lists focus on materials first.

Durability rule: Fused weapons have combined durability from both components. Fusing a durable weapon with a durable material creates the longest-lasting builds. Lynel weapons have the highest base durability in the game.

S-Tier Fuse Materials

These are the best fuse materials in the game. Use on your highest-attack base weapons.

Silver Lynel Saber Horn (+55 attack)

Source: Silver Lynels (3.5% drop rate) and Gloom Lynels Verdict: The single highest fuse attack bonus in TotK. Any melee weapon with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn attached becomes elite. Combine with a Lynel Crusher (78 base) for a 133-attack two-handed weapon — the highest achievable melee damage per hit.

Best combos:

  • Silver Lynel Saber Horn + Lynel Crusher = 133 attack (two-handed)
  • Silver Lynel Saber Horn + Royal Claymore = 117 attack (two-handed)
  • Silver Lynel Saber Horn + Eightfold Blade = 113 attack (one-handed speed build)

Silver Lynel Mace Horn (+50 attack)

Source: Silver Lynels (higher drop rate than Saber Horn) Verdict: Slightly lower bonus than the Saber Horn but drops more frequently. The go-to material for players who are farming Lynels regularly but getting more Mace Horns than Saber Horns.

Best combos:

  • Silver Lynel Mace Horn + Lynel Crusher = 128 attack
  • Silver Lynel Mace Horn + Soldier's Claymore = 116 attack

White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn (+36 attack)

Source: White-Maned Lynels (mid-to-late game) Verdict: The pre-Silver tier's strongest material. Available earlier in the game and still produces weapons with 90+ total attack. Solid for players who haven't unlocked Silver Lynel spawns yet.

Best combos:

  • White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn + Royal Broadsword = 91 attack (one-handed)
  • White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn + Lynel Crusher = 114 attack (two-handed)

Dragon Scales, Talons, Shards (Elemental + Attack)

Source: Shoot dragon specific body parts Verdict: Dragon materials add elemental damage on top of physical attack. The combination of attack bonus AND element makes them uniquely powerful for specific encounters.

| Material | Attack Bonus | Element | |----------|-------------|---------| | Dinraal Scale | +18 | Fire | | Dinraal Claw | +24 | Fire | | Dinraal Fang Shard | +28 | Fire | | Dinraal Horn Shard | +32 | Fire | | Naydra Scale | +18 | Ice | | Naydra Claw | +24 | Ice | | Farosh Scale | +18 | Shock | | Farosh Claw | +24 | Shock | | Light Dragon Fang | +45 | Light | | Light Dragon Horn | +55 | Light (= Master Sword enhancement) |

Best elemental combos:

  • Dinraal Horn Shard + Soldier's Broadsword = 48 fire attack (excellent for Ice enemies, Frost Gleeok, Frost Pebblits)
  • Farosh Horn Shard + Royal Broadsword = 62 shock attack (ideal for water-standing enemies, Lynels in rain)
  • Naydra Fang Shard + Knight's Claymore = 90 ice attack (fire enemies take massive damage)

Light Dragon materials only drop from the Light Dragon (the endgame 5th dragon). The Light Dragon Horn is the material that upgrades the Master Sword to full power — attach it to the True Sword for the highest-damage one-handed weapon.

Lynel Guts (Durability King)

Source: Any Lynel variant Verdict: Lynel Guts don't dramatically increase attack — their value is extreme durability multiplication. A weapon fused with Lynel Guts lasts 2-3x longer than normal. Use on weapons you plan to use in extended combat sessions.

A-Tier Fuse Materials

Strong, farm-able materials that produce excellent weapons without requiring Silver Lynel kills.

Blue-Maned Lynel Saber Horn (+24 attack)

Source: Blue-Maned Lynels (mid-game) Verdict: First Lynel material most players can farm. Still excellent — 24 attack bonus on any decent weapon produces 60-80 attack totals. Grind a few Blue Lynels before approaching White-Maned territories.

Hinox Toenail / Toenail (Bone Hammer build)

Source: Red and Blue Hinox Verdict: Hinox Toenails fused to a sledgehammer create a devastating blunt weapon with bone-break properties. The Radiant Set's Bone Atk Up bonus triples damage, making Hinox Toenail builds the highest DPS option against Stal enemies in the Depths.

Best combo: Hinox Toenail + Lynel Crusher = Bone crusher (use with full Radiant Set)

Gibdo Bone (+21 attack + pierce)

Source: Gibdos (Gerudo Desert, post-Upheaval) Verdict: Gibdo Bones add both attack bonus and a sharpness property that improves armor penetration. Excellent fuse material that's plentiful after clearing the Lightning Temple questline. Good mid-game material before Lynel farming begins.

Gleeok Wing (+22 attack + elemental)

Source: Fire Gleeok, Frost Gleeok, Thunder Gleeok Verdict: Each Gleeok variant drops wings with the corresponding element. Fire Gleeok Wings add fire damage, Frost adds ice, Thunder adds shock. Lower attack bonus than Lynel horns but the elemental property makes them strong situationally. King Gleeok wings add triple-element damage.

| Gleeok Wing | Attack | Element | |-------------|--------|---------| | Fire Gleeok Wing | +22 | Fire | | Frost Gleeok Wing | +22 | Ice | | Thunder Gleeok Wing | +22 | Shock | | King Gleeok Wing | +26 | Fire + Ice + Shock |

King Gleeok Wing is S-tier on the elemental axis — enemies weak to any element take bonus damage from the triple-element property.

Aerocuda Eyeball (Bomb Arrow multiplier)

Source: Aerocuda (sky regions, common) Verdict: Aerocuda Eyeballs don't increase melee damage — their power is on arrows. Fusing an Aerocuda Eyeball to an arrow creates a homing projectile. Not a Tier A material in raw numbers but the homing property makes it uniquely useful against flying enemies and fast movers.

Black Hinox Horn (+22 attack)

Source: Black Hinox Verdict: A step down from Lynel horns but farmable without Lynel combat skill. Black Hinox spawn reliably and drop horns with good frequency. A strong A-tier material for players who prefer Hinox farming over Lynel runs.

B-Tier Fuse Materials

Good materials with clear use cases. Effective but outclassed by S and A-tier at endgame.

Red Moblin Horn / Black Moblin Horn (+9/+14 attack)

Source: Common enemy drop Verdict: Plentiful early-game fuse material. Red Moblin Horn is essentially free bonus attack on disposable sticks. Black Moblin Horn mid-game equivalent. Replace with Lynel materials when available.

Bokoblin Horn variants (+5/+8/+12/+16 attack)

Source: Bokoblins (all colors) Verdict: The most common fuse material in the game. Always available, always useful as a stopgap. Gold Bokoblin Horns (+16) are B-tier — decent but not worth seeking out specifically.

Molduga Jaw (+32 attack, +heat)

Source: Molduga (Gerudo Desert) Verdict: High attack bonus with minor heat-element component. Four Molduga spawn in the Gerudo Desert and respawn with Blood Moon. Good mid-tier farming target for players working toward Lynel materials.

Best combo: Molduga Jaw + Royal Claymore = 94 attack with heat element (excellent desert build)

Black Lizalfos Horn (+14 attack)

Source: Black Lizalfos Verdict: Common mid-game material from Black Lizalfos camps. Attack bonus is moderate but drops are reliable. Pairs well with spears for high-speed builds.

Rock Octorok Eyeball (Repair trick)

Source: Rock Octorok (Eldin region) Verdict: Not a direct attack fuse. The real value: letting a Rock Octorok inhale and spit out your weapons removes all existing fusions and REPAIRS the weapon's durability. Trick: drop a weapon next to a Rock Octorok, let it swallow the weapon, then attack the Octorok to make it spit it back repaired. Effectively extends weapon lifespan infinitely with the right routing.

Chuchu Jelly (Elemental arrows)

Source: Any Chuchu variant Verdict: Fusing Chuchu Jelly to arrows creates elemental arrows without consuming rare dragon parts. Fire Chuchu Jelly = bomb arrow. Ice Chuchu Jelly = ice arrow. Electric Chuchu Jelly = shock arrow. The yield isn't as powerful as dragon-material arrows but the materials are extremely plentiful.

| Jelly Type | Arrow Effect | |------------|-------------| | Red Chuchu Jelly | Bomb Arrow (fire explosion) | | White Chuchu Jelly | Ice Arrow (freezes enemies) | | Yellow Chuchu Jelly | Shock Arrow (paralyzes) | | Blue Chuchu Jelly | Weak version of above |

C-Tier Fuse Materials

Situational or weak. Use when nothing better is available.

Octorok Tentacle (+5 attack, slippery)

Plentiful but low value. The slippery property makes it poor for most use cases. Only useful for sliding-mechanic puzzles.

Hylian Shroom / standard mushrooms (hearty fuse)

Cooking is better. Don't fuse food to weapons unless you're out of options.

Rocks and ore (+3–8 attack)

Found everywhere, adds minimal damage. Good emergency fuse when surrounded but replace immediately.

Flat rocks / stone slabs (Ultrahand puzzle use)

Used to create hammers for pounding things down. Useful in shrines and building but no combat value.

Best Arrow Fusions

Arrows with fused materials are as important as melee weapons. Key arrow fusion builds:

One-hit kill: Lynel Horn + Arrow

The highest-damage arrow available. Silver Lynel Saber Horn + arrow = 55+ damage per hit before multipliers. Headshot on a basic enemy = instant kill at most difficulty levels.

Bomb Arrow: Fire Fruit or Red Chuchu Jelly

Cheap fire arrows from plentiful materials. Fire Fruit is found in abundance across Hyrule. Red Chuchu Jelly from fire area Chuchu. Both create effective explosion arrows.

Homing Arrow: Aerocuda Eyeball

Tracks enemies automatically. Essential for hitting flying bosses and Aerocuda. Fire, aim near the target, and the eyeball guides it in.

Electric paralysis: Shock Fruit or Yellow Chuchu Jelly

Paralyzes most enemies on hit. Use right before a Flurry Rush opportunity to guarantee a stagger window.

Ice freeze: Freeze Fruit or White Chuchu Jelly

Freezes enemies solid. Frozen enemies take bonus physical damage — hit them with a melee weapon for massive bonus damage during the freeze window.

Dragon-scale arrows (premium):

  • Dinraal Scale Arrow — fire element, doesn't consume Dinraal material (scales regenerate next day)
  • Farosh Scale Arrow — shock element, same daily respawn
  • Naydra Scale Arrow — ice element

Scales are the most available dragon part and regenerate daily. Use scales for routine elemental arrows and save Claws/Shards/Horns for armor upgrades.

Best Weapon Type + Material Matchups

Different weapon types benefit from different fuse strategies:

Spears (high speed, low base damage)

Best fuse: White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn or Silver Lynel Saber Horn Spears have low base attack (15–25) but fast attack speed. The Lynel Horn brings the total up to competitive levels while the spear's reach advantage remains. The Knight's Halberd (24 base) + Silver Lynel Saber Horn = 79 attack spear.

Claymores / Two-handers (highest damage ceiling)

Best fuse: Silver Lynel Saber Horn or Molduga Jaw Claymores already have the highest base attack. Adding top-tier fuse materials creates the absolute highest per-hit damage in the game. For breaking boss shields or killing tanky enemies fast, nothing beats a maxed claymore.

One-handed weapons (balanced, shield-compatible)

Best fuse: White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn (balance of speed + damage) One-handers let you use shields while attacking. The speed of one-handers combined with a solid fuse bonus is the most versatile combat build.

Construct bows (speed + triple shot)

Best fuse: Lynel Saber Horn or Silver Lynel Saber Horn on arrows Construct bows fire three arrows simultaneously. Fusing a powerful material to an arrow means three hits per shot at full bonus each. A triple-shot bow + Silver Lynel Saber Horn arrows = 165 damage per volley (3 × 55).

Situation-Specific Best Builds

| Situation | Best Weapon | Best Fuse | |-----------|------------|-----------| | Lynel hunting | Lynel Crusher (78) | Silver Lynel Saber Horn (+55) | | Gloom Hands | Any high-attack weapon | White-Maned Lynel Horn or Dragonbone | | Fire Gleeok | Knight's Claymore | Naydra Fang Shard (ice) | | Frost Gleeok | Royal Claymore | Dinraal Fang Shard (fire) | | Thunder Gleeok | Royal Halberd | Naydra or Dinraal Fang Shard | | Depths Stal enemies | Lynel Crusher | Hinox Toenail (+ Radiant Set) | | Gibdo swarms | Royal Broadsword | Farosh Fang Shard (shock) | | Hinox | Royal Claymore | Silver Lynel Saber Horn | | Colosseum Flux Construct | Any high-attack | Molduga Jaw | | Boss rush efficient | Lynel Crusher | Silver Lynel Saber Horn (133 atk) |

Quick Reference: Attack Bonus by Material

| Material | Attack Bonus | Source | |----------|-------------|--------| | Silver Lynel Saber Horn | +55 | Silver/Gloom Lynel | | Silver Lynel Mace Horn | +50 | Silver/Gloom Lynel | | Light Dragon Fang Shard | +45 | Light Dragon (endgame) | | White Lynel Saber Horn | +36 | White-Maned Lynel | | Dinraal Horn Shard | +32 | Dinraal (head shot) | | Gloom Hands Gibdo Wing | +28 | Depths Gloom Hands | | Molduga Jaw | +32 | Molduga (Gerudo) | | White Lynel Mace Horn | +30 | White-Maned Lynel | | Blue Lynel Saber Horn | +24 | Blue-Maned Lynel | | Dragon Claw (any) | +24 | Dragon wing shot | | Gleeok Wing (any) | +22 | Gleeok variants | | King Gleeok Wing | +26 | King Gleeok | | Black Moblin Horn | +14 | Black Moblin | | Gold Bokoblin Horn | +16 | Gold Bokoblin | | Dragon Scale (any) | +18 | Dragon body shot | | Black Lizalfos Horn | +14 | Black Lizalfos | | Red Bokoblin Horn | +5 | Red Bokoblin |

Weapon damage is also multiplied by attack-up food/elixirs. Use Silver Lynel Saber Horn + Attack Up Lv 3 meal + Might Crystalline Charge for maximum burst damage in boss encounters.
