Big Wheel

Movement
Medium energy drain

Description

A large motorized wheel that propels ground vehicles when powered. On flat terrain it is faster and more energy-efficient than fans. Mount two Big Wheels on either side of a flat platform with a Steering Stick between them for an instant car that outpaces sprinting Link. The go-to wheel for desert crossings, field exploration, and any area with smooth flat terrain. Struggles significantly on steep slopes and rocky terrain where fans or wings are superior. Found in Capsule Dispensers on mid-tier Sky Island areas.

Best Uses

1

Ground car build (2 wheels on opposite sides + flat platform + Steering Stick)

2

Battle tank (2 wheels + platform + Cannon or Beam Emitter + Steering Stick)

3

Depths rail traversal: attach to a Mine Cart for accelerated track travel

4

Desert and open Hyrule Field crossing at sustained high speed

5

Hauling heavy cargo loads across flat terrain efficiently

6

Efficient patrol route travel when exploring large flat areas like Akkala or Lanayru Wetlands

Pro Tips

*

Two Big Wheels + Steering Stick + flat board = a ground car faster than running at low energy cost.

*

Big Wheels are more energy-efficient than fans on flat ground — use them for long land crossings.

*

Wheels struggle on rough terrain and steep slopes — switch to fan-based builds in mountainous regions.

*

Wider wheel spacing = more stable vehicle. Mount the wheels as far apart as possible on the platform.

*

Three wheels in a triangle formation gives excellent terrain stability on moderately rough ground.

*

Synergy with Cannon: a wheeled battle wagon with a forward-facing Cannon clears camps without dismounting.

*

Gotcha: Big Wheels can overhang and clip into terrain on bumpy paths — raise your platform slightly above the axle level.
