Shock Emitter
Description
Releases a pulsing AoE electric burst that stuns nearby enemies and conducts instantly through water and metal surfaces. The single most effective crowd-control Zonai device in the game — it can stun an entire enemy camp simultaneously if placed in a puddle or on a metal plate. Shocked enemies drop all held weapons and are stunned for several seconds, leaving them completely defenseless. Synergizes with Hydrant (which creates water for conduction) and Metal Plates (which extend the conduction area). Found in Capsule Dispensers and treasure chests on advanced Sky Island areas.
Best Uses
Puddle placement for chain-stun of entire enemy groups simultaneously
Metal plate conduction: place Shock Emitter on a metal surface to electrify the whole area
Enemy weapon disarm — shocked Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos drop all weapons instantly
Anti-Horriblin cluster crowd control on cave ceilings and walls
Disarming Lizalfos patrols before approaching for stealth pickups
Thunder Gleeok immunity test: Thunder Gleeoks RESIST shock — do not use on them
Pro Tips
*
Drop a Shock Emitter in a puddle or stream to stun every enemy touching the water simultaneously.
*
Shocked enemies drop their weapons — immediately grab the dropped weapons to permanently disarm them.
*
Synergy with Hydrant: spray water first with a Hydrant, then drop a Shock Emitter into the puddle.
*
Metal Plates conduct the shock AoE — place on a metal plate near metal-armored enemies for guaranteed contact.
*
Fuse to a shield: parry with a Shock Emitter shield to release a stunning electric burst on every successful parry.
*
Advanced: mount on a vehicle alongside a Hydrant — the hydrant wets the ground, the emitter electrifies everything in range automatically.
*
Gotcha: do NOT use near water when wearing metal armor yourself — Link will also get stunned.
