About Penn

Penn is an ambitious young Rito reporter working for the Lucky Clover Gazette, Hyrule's only surviving newspaper. He chases Princess Zelda sighting leads across every corner of the kingdom, appearing at 14 different stables (and a few other locations) to investigate local rumors. Each encounter triggers a unique questline — some are comedic, some are mysterious, and several reveal genuinely surprising stories about the communities living through the Upheaval. Penn's questline is one of TotK's most rewarding completionist activities because of the variety and writing quality of each individual story. The questline begins at the Lucky Clover Gazette headquarters northeast of Rito Village, where editor-in-chief Traysi assigns Link as Penn's anonymous field partner. Completing all Gazette investigations rewards the full Froggy Set — essential for rain-free climbing. Penn himself is earnest, slightly naive, and deeply dedicated to journalistic truth even when the truth is stranger than the rumors.
