Quest Overview
A researcher studying the ruins of Akkala Citadel believes ancient Sheikah defense mechanisms are still active inside the crumbling fortress. Escort the scholar through three increasingly dangerous interior chambers, fending off the automated stone guardians that activate as the pair penetrate deeper. The scholar documents each mechanism while Link handles the combat. Reaching the inner archive unlocks a chest containing a full set of ancient military records and a rare weapon.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Meet the Scholar Outside Akkala Citadel
The Sheikah researcher Renessa waits outside the ruined Akkala Citadel gate in the northeastern Akkala region. She has spent months mapping the fortress exterior and believes the inner chambers still have functional Sheikah Stone Talus-class guardians left from Hyrule's pre-Calamity defenses. She needs Link's combat ability to safely penetrate three interior chambers while she documents the mechanisms. Agree to escort her inside.
2
Clear the First Chamber: The Gatehouse
Enter the citadel's gatehouse with Renessa close behind. Two reactivated Stone Pebblit guardians emerge from the walls when weight is placed on the central pressure plate. Defeat both using Yunobo's charge (to break the ore armor) or bomb arrows targeting the glowing weak point on their backs. Renessa takes notes on the mechanism design while Link fights. The gatehouse exit leads to the inner courtyard.
3
Clear the Second and Third Chambers
The second chamber — the barracks hall — contains a single Igneo Talus Titan sealed since the Calamity, reactivated by the Upheaval tremors. Defeat it using cold-elemental arrows on its glowing ore weak point or ice weapons fused to deal increased damage. The third chamber, the inner sanctum, has two Sheikah Stone Guardians in a narrow corridor. Use Recall on their projectiles to deflect them back and conserve your own arrows.
4
Reach the Inner Archive and Claim the Reward
Past the sanctum, a sealed vault door opens when both guardians are defeated — the Sheikah fail-safe protocol. Inside the archive, shelves of preserved military records document Hyrule's pre-Calamity defense strategy. Renessa is overwhelmed with the discovery. A stone chest at the vault's center contains an ancient Royal Guard's Sword (high base attack, Sheikah craftsmanship) and Rupees. Renessa provides her research bonus for the escort service.
