Meet the Ruins Historian

At the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab ruins, a historian named Gisela is standing before a broken stone platform with carved grooves. She explains this was once a Zonai cultural monument predating even the ancient Sheikah technology — and the Upheaval shook the six carved stone panels from their positions and scattered them across the surrounding ruins. She has an image reference showing where each piece fits.

Locate the Six Stone Fragments

The fragments are spread across the Akkala Citadel Ruins area, each weighing several tons and requiring Ultrahand to move. Two are half-buried in rubble east of the lab platform. One leans against the citadel's outer wall. Another sits at the bottom of a small dry moat. The fifth is resting on a boulder outcrop up the hillside, and the sixth has fallen into the ravine to the north and must be retrieved by carefully lowering yourself to grab it.

Reassemble the Monument

Return each fragment to the platform using Ultrahand. Gisela guides you verbally as you approach with each piece — she tells you the correct orientation (each fragment has a carved symbol that must face outward) and the slot it belongs to. The monument's interlocking grooves only allow one correct fit per piece, so listen for the audible click sound confirming correct placement. Take your time with each panel.

Complete the Monument and Receive the Reward

Once all six fragments are placed correctly, the monument activates — the carved symbols glow briefly as residual Zonai energy flows through the stone. Gisela is moved to tears by the restoration. A hidden compartment in the monument base slides open, revealing a cache left by the original Zonai who built it: an Ancient Blade and 250 Rupees in ancient coinage accepted at merchants as equivalent value.
