About This Lightroot
Uyanal Lightroot (anagram of Lanayu Shrine) stands at a three-river confluence in the central Lanayru Depths, where underground channels draining from the Lanayru Wetlands above have carved the cave floor into a complex of stone islands separated by 2-4 meter wide rushing channels. The lightroot itself occupies the largest island — a 30-meter plateau at the confluence center, elevated 1-2 meters above the waterline. Navigation requires crossing natural stone bridges (some 50 cm wide requiring careful footwork) or constructing crossing vehicles from available Ultrahand materials scattered on the banks. Luminous Stone veins run along both river banks uninterrupted for the full visible length of each channel, reflecting off the moving water in brilliant blue pulses that make the entire cavern flicker rhythmically. A Blue-and-Silver Lizalfos company (6-8) has colonized the largest eastern island using the channel network for tactical separation — they regroup via the bridges when pushed back, requiring systematic clearing rather than area attacks. A Bubbulfrog roosts on the island's underside, accessible by swimming the eastern channel and looking up from underwater. Rare: one river channel carries Blue-Maned Lynel bones downstream from an upstream collapse, suggesting a Lynel den somewhere in the upper Lanayru river system. Chain navigation: connects Kisihayam (west) to Otakih (south).
