Speak with the Researchers

Find the Zonai research team camped at the base of Akkala Citadel Ruins, east of Tarrey Town. They have observed a Flux Construct III — the most powerful variant — circling the upper ruins platform since the Upheaval. One researcher offers a reward if Link can neutralize the threat and retrieve a fragment of its core for study.

Climb to the Ruins Platform

Scale the crumbling walls of Akkala Citadel using the fallen blocks and collapsed archways as stepping stones. The Flux Construct patrols the wide stone platform at the citadel's summit. Approach from the east side where the patrol route turns away briefly, giving you time to assess the arena and position yourself before combat begins.

Combat Strategy for Flux Construct III

Flux Construct III cycles between three phases: a floating cube formation (shoot the glowing core block with arrows or hit it with Ultrahand and throw it back), a ground-stomping platform mode (dodge the shockwaves and hit the exposed core block), and a spinning ring wall mode (find the gap in the rotating ring and strike the core from inside). Each phase is defeated when the glowing block is destroyed.

Claim the Reward

Once all three phases are complete, the Flux Construct collapses and drops a Zonai Charge and core materials. Return to the researchers to report the victory and collect the Ancient Blade and additional Zonai Charges as promised. The researchers will set up a permanent observation post at the citadel ruins, adding new lore dialogue about pre-Calamity Zonai military architecture.
