Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Oromuwak Shrine in the Hebra region.
- The theme is A Frozen Device — freeing and activating mechanisms trapped in ice before they refreeze.
- The Hebra region's extreme cold permeates even the shrine interior, meaning melted ice can refreeze if you are not fast enough.
- Two large ice blocks sit in the chamber, each encasing a mechanical gear mechanism.
- Both mechanisms must be freed and activated within a tight window to open the altar gate.
- Step 2: Survey the room for heat sources.
- A flame emitter device is mounted on a swivel near the entrance — it produces a continuous stream of fire when activated.
- Fire arrows are also available in a quiver on the wall rack (five total).
- The flame emitter melts ice faster and more reliably than fire arrows, but fire arrows can reach distant targets the emitter cannot.
- Step 3: Start with the left ice block (smaller, closer).
- Aim the flame emitter at it by grabbing the emitter's swivel with Ultrahand and rotating it toward the ice block.
- Activate the emitter — the fire stream melts the ice in about 6 seconds.
- Once the gear mechanism is exposed, immediately interact with it (press the activation switch on its base).
- A chime sounds, confirming Mechanism 1 is active.
- Step 4: The cold wind in the room begins refreezing the exposed mechanism — you have approximately 20 seconds before it locks up again.
- Sprint to the right ice block (larger, farther away).
- The flame emitter cannot reach it from its current position.
- Use fire arrows instead — two direct hits melt the larger ice block in about 8 seconds.
- Activate Mechanism 2's switch immediately after the ice clears.
- Step 5: Both mechanisms must be active simultaneously to open the gate.
- If Mechanism 1 refreezes before you activate Mechanism 2, the gate will not open and you must start over.
- For a safer approach: use Ultrahand to detach the flame emitter from its swivel and carry it to a position equidistant between both ice blocks.
- Place it on the ground, then use Ultrahand to place a second flame emitter (found behind a small ice block near the back wall) on the other side.
- Activate both emitters — they melt both ice blocks simultaneously, giving you maximum time to activate both switches.
- Step 6: With both mechanisms active, the double-gated corridor at the far end opens.
- Walk through to the altar and claim the Light of Blessing.
- Abilities needed: Ultrahand (emitter positioning, swivel manipulation).
- Pro tip: Wearing the Snowquill armor set reduces the cold's effect on ice refreezing speed, giving you roughly 5 extra seconds before mechanisms refreeze.
- This is not a game mechanic technically — the armor simply keeps Link from shivering, which wastes animation time between actions.
