Maren's Tip

Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!

Walkthrough

  1. Step 1: Wao-os Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine in the Hebra region, unlocked by completing the "Sled Down Hebra Mountain" crystal quest — one of the most entertaining crystal quests in the game.
  2. The crystal sits at the very top of a steep icy slope on Hebra's western face, near the summit peak marker.
  3. Equip full Snowquill Armor (Level 2 cold resistance required) before climbing, as the summit is at extreme altitude with punishing cold.
  4. Step 2: Climb to the summit from the southeastern approach (the most gradual slope with natural ledges for stamina recovery).
  5. The climb takes about 3 minutes with two full stamina wheels.
  6. At the summit, the crystal glows on a flat rock beside the peak marker flag.
  7. Step 3: The quest objective is to transport the crystal to the receptacle at the base of the slope — roughly 500 meters below.
  8. Carrying it by hand down the icy cliff face would take forever and risk dropping it into crevasses.
  9. Instead, build a Zonai sled from the parts scattered near the summit: two flat boards and two curved runner pieces are lying near the crystal.
  10. Step 4: Use Ultrahand to assemble the sled — attach the two runner pieces beneath the flat boards to create a functioning sled chassis.
  11. Then attach the crystal to the sled's top surface using Ultrahand — press A when the green highlight appears to fuse it firmly in place.
  12. The crystal must be attached securely; if it is just resting on top, it bounces off during the descent.
  13. Step 5: Position the sled at the slope's edge, facing downhill.
  14. Mount the sled by standing on it and using the control stick to lean forward.
  15. The sled begins sliding down the icy slope, gaining speed rapidly.
  16. Lean left and right to steer around rock outcroppings and ice formations along the descent.
  17. The ride takes about 30 seconds and reaches exhilarating speed — one of the most fun experiences in TotK.
  18. Step 6: At the bottom of the slope, the receptacle glows on a stone platform near the treeline.
  19. Dismount the sled near the receptacle and detach the crystal with Ultrahand.
  20. Place it into the receptacle ring.
  21. The shrine materializes at the slope's base.
  22. Step 7: Enter for Rauru's Blessing — no puzzle or combat inside.
  23. Claim your Light of Blessing.
  24. Hidden chest: Inside the shrine, a chest near the altar contains a Diamond (worth 500 rupees — one of the highest-value shrine chest rewards in Hebra).
  25. Ability needed: Ultrahand for building the sled and attaching the crystal.
  26. No abilities used inside the shrine.
  27. Pro tip: The sled you build for this quest can be reused — after placing the crystal, detach the runners and boards and rebuild the sled for recreational sliding.
  28. The Hebra slopes are the best sledding terrain in TotK.
