About This Lightroot

Catenim occupies the geological transition zone in southern Gerudo Depths where sandy substrate gives way to bedrock, corresponding to Minetak Shrine in the Gerudo Highlands. The desert-glass formations here are geologically unique — ancient heat events (possibly volcanic or magical in origin) penetrated the surface sand and fused it into translucent glass columns and floor patches that refract the lightroot's glow into prismatic scatter patterns. The glass formations are fragile; two-handed weapon strikes shatter them and yield rare desert-glass material used in certain recipes. Gibdo patrols are the primary enemy threat: three patrol groups of 4-5 Gibdos each cover the approach corridors, and they are highly aggressive to light sources — approach with a Brightbloom Seed placed behind you to draw their attention away. A Large Frox has claimed the bedrock transition zone east of the lightroot as its territory.
