Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Daunma Shrine in the Depths region and face the primary hazard — near-total darkness.
- Unlike combat-focused Depths shrines, this is a puzzle shrine where darkness itself is the obstacle.
- You cannot see pressure plates, walkways, or pit edges without light.
- Carry at least 10 Brightbloom Seeds (preferably including 2-3 Large Brightbloom Seeds for wider illumination).
- Step 2: Throw a Large Brightbloom Seed into the center of the first chamber.
- The wide illumination radius reveals the room's layout: three pressure plates are embedded in the floor at center, left, and right positions.
- Two stone blocks (Block A and Block B) sit near the entrance.
- A locked door with a mechanical switch mechanism stands at the chamber's far wall.
- All three pressure plates must be activated simultaneously to open the door.
- Step 3: Use Ultrahand to grab Block A and place it on the center pressure plate.
- The plate depresses with a click, and a partial light activates on the door mechanism (one of three indicator lights illuminates).
- Block A is heavy enough to hold the center plate permanently.
- Step 4: Grab Block B with Ultrahand and place it on the left pressure plate.
- A second click and the second indicator light illuminates on the door.
- Two of three plates are now held.
- Step 5: The right pressure plate is the tricky one — there is no third block.
- You must stand on it yourself to provide the weight.
- However, simply standing on the plate is not enough — the door has a secondary lock that requires the mechanical switch on the door itself to be triggered simultaneously while all three plates are depressed.
- Step 6: Stand on the right pressure plate (all three indicator lights now illuminate) and look toward the door switch.
- The switch is a small target mounted on the door frame, about 6 meters away.
- Pick up a small stone from the floor near the plate with Ultrahand and throw it at the switch while maintaining your position on the plate.
- The thrown stone hits the switch, the door's secondary lock releases, and the door slides open while all three plates remain active.
- Step 7: Step off the right plate and sprint through the door before it closes (you have about 8 seconds).
- The corridor beyond is lit by the shrine's altar glow.
- Near the altar, a treasure chest sits on a pedestal containing a Silver Lynel Horn — a Depths-exclusive Fuse material that adds 55 attack power to any weapon (one of the highest-value Fuse materials in the game).
- Step 8: Claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: The Silver Lynel Horn near the altar — do not skip this, it is extraordinarily valuable.
- Ability needed: Ultrahand for moving blocks and throwing the stone at the switch.
- Brightbloom Seeds are essential for seeing the puzzle elements.
- Pro tip: If your stone throw at the switch misses, pick up another stone and retry — there are several small rocks scattered near the right plate.
- Alternatively, fire an arrow at the switch for a more accurate hit, though this uses a consumable.
