Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Isu Shrine in the Akkala region and prepare for a multi-phase combat trial against three enemies — two Black Bokoblins and a Stalnox mini-boss.
- This is one of Akkala's harder combat shrines, so bring your best weapons and at least 10 arrows.
- Step 2: Two Black Bokoblins patrol the arena floor in a loose figure-eight pattern.
- These are significantly tougher than standard red or blue Bokoblins, with higher health pools and attack damage.
- Prioritize eliminating them before the Stalnox activates.
- Use arrow headshots from the entrance corridor to stagger each Bokoblin (one headshot staggers for 2 seconds), then sprint in and deliver a full melee combo.
- Two headshot-combo cycles per Bokoblin should finish them.
- Fighting both simultaneously is risky — lure one toward you with a thrown item while the other patrols away.
- Step 3: With both Bokoblins down, the back chamber gate opens and a Stalnox emerges — a massive skeletal Hinox variant with a single glowing eye.
- The Stalnox charges forward with sweeping arm attacks that cover a wide arc.
- Do not attempt to tank these hits; each swing deals 6+ hearts of damage.
- Step 4: The Stalnox's weakness is its glowing eye, positioned in its ribcage.
- Fire an arrow directly at the eye when it charges toward you — the timing window is when its chest faces you during the charge animation (about 1.5 seconds).
- A direct eye hit staggers the Stalnox, causing it to collapse and its eye to pop out and roll across the floor.
- Step 5: Sprint to the fallen eye and attack it with your strongest melee weapon.
- You have approximately 8 seconds of vulnerability before the Stalnox recovers and the eye returns to its body.
- Land as many hits as possible during this window — a two-handed weapon's spin attack is optimal here.
- Step 6: Repeat the eye-shot-and-strike cycle three times to defeat the Stalnox.
- After the third cycle, it collapses permanently and drops a Stalnox Horn (excellent Fuse material, adds 30 attack power to any weapon).
- Step 7: Before proceeding to the altar, check the back wall near the Stalnox's spawn point.
- A treasure chest contains a Silver Longsword (28 attack power — a reliable mid-tier weapon for Akkala exploration).
- Claim the Light of Blessing at the altar.
- Hidden chest: The Silver Longsword near the back wall.
- Ability needed: No shrine abilities required — pure combat.
- Pro tip: If you have Bomb Arrows, one direct hit to the Stalnox's eye deals the stagger plus significant bonus damage, reducing the fight from three cycles to two.
