Maren's Tip

Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!

Walkthrough

1. Step 1: Enter Kogyah Shrine in the Rimewise region and immediately assess the arena.
2. A large Fire Chuchu (red, gelatinous, and pulsing with heat) occupies the center of a room lined with six ice pillars arranged in two rows of three.
3. These ice pillars serve as temporary cover — the Chuchu's fire spit melts them on contact, so each pillar can only absorb one or two hits before disappearing.
4. Step 2: Retreat immediately behind the nearest ice pillar on your left.
5. The Fire Chuchu's primary attack is a fire spit projectile that travels in a straight line — it cannot curve around pillars.
6. Use the pillar to block its line of sight while you plan your approach.
7. Equip a weapon with ice or water properties if you have one (Frostblade, ice-fused weapon) — these deal double damage to fire enemies.
8. Step 3: The Chuchu will advance toward your position, melting any pillar between you.
9. When it moves past a pillar on one side, circle around the opposite side to flank it.
10. Deliver two to three melee strikes to its body, then retreat behind the next pillar.
11. Each melee hit causes the Chuchu to recoil and pause for about 2 seconds — use this window to reposition.
12. Step 4: After taking 40% damage, the Fire Chuchu inflates dramatically — its body swells to nearly double size and glows bright orange.
13. This signals an imminent fire explosion with a 6-meter blast radius.
14. Back away immediately to at least 7 meters.
15. The explosion melts all ice pillars within range and deals 3 hearts of fire damage if you are caught.
16. Wait for the explosion to dissipate (about 3 seconds).
17. Step 5: Post-explosion, the Chuchu is temporarily deflated and vulnerable for approximately 5 seconds.
18. Sprint in and deliver a full melee combo — a charged two-handed spin attack is devastating here.
19. This burst damage phase should finish it if your weapon is decent.
20. If not, repeat the pillar-cover cycle for one more round.
21. Step 6: With the Fire Chuchu defeated, the path to the altar opens beyond the melted pillar field.
22. A chest near the back wall (partially hidden by a remaining ice pillar if any survived) contains a Fire-Resistant Elixir.
23. Abilities needed: No shrine abilities required — pure combat awareness.
24. Pro tip: Fuse a Chuchu Jelly to your shield before entering.
25. If the Fire Chuchu's spit hits your shield, the fused jelly absorbs the fire element entirely, protecting you from burn damage and giving you a free counter-attack window.
