Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Serutabomac Shrine in Central Hyrule.
- The theme is The Way Up — vertical traversal using creative block stacking.
- Immediately ahead, a tall smooth wall (approximately 6 meters high) blocks your path.
- The wall has no handholds, no climbable texture, and no ladders.
- Four large stone blocks of varying heights are scattered across the floor behind you.
- Step 2: Use Ultrahand to grab the tallest block first (approximately 2.5 meters).
- Position it flush against the smooth wall on the left side.
- This block forms the top step of your staircase, so it needs to be directly beneath the ledge above.
- Step 3: Grab the second-tallest block (approximately 2 meters) and place it adjacent to the first block but stepped back about 1 meter from the wall.
- This creates the second step — you will step from this block onto the taller block.
- Step 4: The third block (approximately 1.5 meters) forms the entry step.
- Place it another meter back from the second block.
- You should now have a three-step staircase ascending toward the wall ledge: short block, medium block, tall block, then the ledge.
- Test the staircase by climbing it — if any step is too high to mount (more than about 1 meter between steps), adjust the spacing with Ultrahand.
- Step 5: The fourth block serves a bonus purpose.
- Before climbing your staircase to the main ledge, look to the right — a chest alcove sits in the wall about 4 meters up, offset from the main ledge.
- Place the fourth block as a stepping stone to reach this alcove.
- The chest inside contains a Great Thunderblade (30 attack power with lightning damage), one of the best weapons available in Central Hyrule shrines.
- Step 6: Return to your staircase and climb to the main wall ledge.
- From the ledge, look up — a thin ceiling section is visible directly above (lighter stone color, slight gap around its edges).
- Activate Ascend while standing on the ledge to phase through the thin ceiling and emerge on the upper level where the altar awaits.
- Claim the Light of Blessing.
- Abilities needed: Ultrahand (block manipulation and staircase construction), Ascend (ceiling traversal to altar).
- Pro tip: If your staircase feels unstable and blocks slide when you climb them, try nesting the blocks — use Ultrahand to push each block partially into the one below it so they interlock.
- Interlocked blocks resist movement from Link's weight much better than freestanding stacks.
