Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!

Walkthrough

1. Step 1: Timawak Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine in the Eldin region, unlocked by completing the "Volcanic Cave Crystal" quest near Goron City.
2. Travel to Goron City and head east toward the volcanic caves dotting Death Mountain's lower slopes.
3. The target cave entrance is marked by sulfurous yellow fumes and a faint green glow from within — about 200 meters east of the city's eastern gate.
4. Step 2: Before entering, equip full Flamebreaker armor (all three pieces for maximum heat resistance).
5. Even with full armor, the cave interior is intensely hot — the ambient temperature causes a visual heat shimmer and your stamina recovery rate is halved.
6. Eat a Fireproof Elixir (cooked from Fireproof Lizards and Monster Parts) for an additional layer of protection that prevents weapon handles from overheating and causing grip damage.
7. Step 3: Enter the cave.
8. The interior is a single large volcanic chamber with lava pools on the floor and steam vents along the walls.
9. The crystal sits on an upper ledge approximately 8 meters above the cave floor, visible by its green glow against the orange-red volcanic rock.
10. Step 4: Reach the crystal by climbing the left wall of the cave.
11. The wall has natural handholds (protruding volcanic rock formations), but the heat reduces your stamina recovery — plan your climbing route to include rest ledges every 3-4 meters of vertical progress.
12. A stamina-restoring meal or Endura Carrots help immensely here.
13. Step 5: On the upper ledge, grab the crystal with Ultrahand.
14. Now you must carry it back to the cave exit where the receptacle waits on a stone platform just outside the cave mouth.
15. The descent is trickier than the climb — you cannot climb down while holding the crystal.
16. Instead, carefully lower the crystal with Ultrahand from the ledge to the cave floor below (extend Ultrahand's reach downward), then drop down yourself and retrieve it.
17. Step 6: Carry the crystal through the cave toward the exit.
18. The heat makes Link's movement speed approximately 20% slower than normal — resist the urge to rush, as dropping the crystal into a lava pool destroys it and forces a respawn back on the upper ledge.
19. Pick the most direct route along the cave's left wall where the floor is solid rock, avoiding the lava pools in the center and right side.
20. Step 7: Exit the cave and place the crystal into the glowing green receptacle on the stone platform.
21. The shrine materializes at the cave mouth.
22. Enter for Rauru's Blessing — no puzzle or combat inside.
23. Claim your Light of Blessing.
24. Hidden chest: Inside the shrine, a chest near the altar contains a Ruby (worth 210 rupees and useful for Flamebreaker armor upgrades).
25. Ability needed: Ultrahand for carrying the crystal.
26. Climbing stamina for reaching the upper ledge.
27. No abilities used inside the shrine.
28. Pro tip: The volcanic caves near Goron City contain rare Smotherwing Butterfly spawns (used for Fireproof Elixirs) and Luminous Stone deposits.
29. While completing this quest, gather both — Luminous Stones sell for 70 rupees each and the butterflies are essential for sustained Eldin exploration.
