Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Apogek Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine in the Lanayru region, unlocked by completing the "Lanayru Swamp Crystal Crossing" quest.
- The green crystal sits on a small island in the center of the Lanayru Wetlands swamp, clearly visible by its green glow.
- The challenge is that the swamp is deep water on all sides with at least three hostile Electric Lizalfos patrolling the waters between the island and the east bank where the receptacle waits.
- Step 2: Assess your approach.
- You have two primary options.
- Option A (Raft Build — recommended): Near the swamp's east bank, several large pieces of driftwood are scattered along the shore.
- Use Ultrahand to drag three logs together and attach them side by side to form a wide, stable raft.
- Attach a Zonai Fan to the raft's rear if you have one (check the nearby Zonai device dispenser).
- Board the raft and activate the fan to propel across the swamp to the crystal island.
- Step 3 (Option A continued): On the crystal island, grab the crystal with Ultrahand and place it on your raft.
- Board again and fan-propel back to the east bank.
- The Lizalfos will notice you but the raft moves fast enough to outrun their swimming speed.
- If one latches onto the raft, strike it once with a weapon to knock it off.
- Step 4 (Option B — Direct Swimming): If you lack materials for a raft, you can wade through the swamp directly.
- Equip the Zora Armor for faster swimming and eat an electric resistance meal (cook Voltfruit or Zapshrooms) to survive Lizalfos electric discharges.
- Swim to the island, grab the crystal with Ultrahand, and swim back while holding it.
- The crystal slows your swimming speed significantly, so high stamina (at least 2 full wheels) is critical.
- Step 5: Place the crystal into the glowing green receptacle ring on the east bank.
- The shrine materializes with a burst of green light beside the receptacle.
- Enter and walk to the altar for Rauru's Blessing — no puzzle inside.
- Hidden chest: Inside the shrine, a chest near the altar contains a Zora Greaves (leg armor piece that increases swimming speed — part of the Zora Armor set).
- Ability needed: Ultrahand is essential for building the raft and carrying the crystal.
- Zora Armor or stamina upgrades are strongly recommended for the direct swimming approach.
- Pro tip: The raft you build for this quest does not despawn immediately — leave it at the east bank after completing the shrine.
- You can use it later to explore other Lanayru Wetlands islands that are otherwise difficult to reach without swimming.
