Gerudo Highlands
The Gerudo Highlands rise dramatically above the Gerudo Desert on the southwestern skyline, forming a frozen mountain range at extreme elevation. The contrast is stark: within a few minutes of travel time, the scorching sand of the desert below gives way to blizzard-swept snowfields and sheer cliffs of blue-grey stone at elevation. This is one of the most inhospitable areas in all of Hyrule — there are no stables, no settlements, no waypoints of comfort. Perpetual blizzards reduce visibility to near zero on exposed ridgelines, and the wind carries enough chill to be dangerous without Level 2 cold resistance. The reward for enduring the highlands is substantial: rare ore deposits, Frost Gleok encounters with exceptional loot drops, hidden shrines in cliff alcoves, and some of the most spectacular panoramic views in the game — on clear moments between blizzard bands, the entire Gerudo Desert spreads out thousands of feet below. Gerudo Summit is the highest point in the region and one of the highest accessible locations in all of Hyrule. The Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower is among the hardest to reach in the game, requiring either extensive climbing stamina or a creative Zonai flying machine to approach.

Exploration Tips
Do not enter the Gerudo Highlands without Level 2 cold resistance — you will take rapid heart damage and die.
Build a Zonai flying machine from the desert side to bypass the cliff approaches. A Wing glider with two Fans is sufficient.
There are absolutely no stables — cook full batches of spicy food and carry them before entering.
The Frost Gleeok at the summit area drops exceptional materials including Gleeok Flame Shards — worth the difficulty.
Approach from the Gerudo Desert side (west) for the slightly easiest foot-climbing route up the initial escarpment.
Between blizzard bands, the view from the summit toward the Gerudo Desert is one of the best in the game.
